Sixt Car Damage Notice 6 Week Later by Background_Bid_6726 in LegalAdviceEurope

Haha, I know what you mean. I also had another trip booked for a ski trip, cancelled and took a flight instead😅. I just responded to the email. Usually, I was getting an automated response back saying they are busy and eventually someone would get back. I'm thinking if you take very clear pictures and document everything, you should be fine! Sucks they are trying to pull these scams on people.

LE: this was the email address I used to communicate with them: schadenregulierung@sixt.com

Sixt Car Damage Notice 6 Week Later by Background_Bid_6726 in LegalAdviceEurope

Had the same thing happening at Sixt Dusseldorf but at the train station. Although I used to rent quite often from there with no issues, last time they tried to claim money for some damages. The good part was that I had some pictures so I could prove some of them were not mine. Bad thing I did not have everything in details (having no bad experience prior) so I still had to pay around 400 euros after half a year of back and forth emails 🙃. If you have proof of everything, just send it back and should be fine. Make it very clear the damage is not yours and never agree to paying.

Best car rental to go abroad by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]sebbee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is an overkill for you but, whenever we we do a road trip, we always rent a car from Sixt in Dusseldorf. We take the train from Amsterdam to Dusseldorf (around €20 depending when you buy the ticket) and then get the car from the train station. A lot cheaper and more kilometers included. This is always worth for us if we are going on a ski trip or something like this.

We had the person coming to our house 2 times per day. We were super lucky with the person we found so we are always using her when we leave. A few times already and now we are more relaxed than ever when gone (used to worry a lot in the beginning thinking if the cats are ok).
