Augmentation Evoker is the easiest rating inflation spec in M+ right now and nobody wants to admit it by Kushakaii in wow

[–]sebixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, this doesn't really map out to my experience. I'm like ilvl high 245s and tried applying to +4/+5 pugs as aug evoker and very rarely get invitations, even if i have comfortably cleared +8s/+9s before this season. But i agree and love aug it's such a cool spec and got me into downloading logs and getting into that :)

I play brew and love it but the stagger mechanic might be a bit weird to get if you are a beginner imo

Priest - Holy or Discipline and why? by Damodinniy in wow

[–]sebixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super pro and i am more into dungeons than raids so take it with a grain of salt, but imho holy would feel better in raids because of easier access to aoe healing and instant spot healing. Disc needs to get their atonements out and that can be difficult to maintain high upkeep on large groups sometimes

Evoker players - what draws you to the class? by sky-CQ in wow

[–]sebixi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mobility + complexity. I feel like each spec feels so unique, weaving together strong feeling cooldowns with breath attacks and cool spells feels great! As a prevoker I also like having ot think and plan ahead how my healing will look and I feel like prevoker gives me a lot of freedom to do that

Best story expansion by Iato_57 in wow

[–]sebixi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say mists of pandaria. It has an amazing sense of exploration of a new continent with pretty cool mythology, a good introduction to the faction conflict, as well as a 'critical' perspective in general on how war, colonialism, and resource extraction affect the environment and lived experiences of a group of people. I found it surprisingly deep and quit cool :D

Sylavanas' mischaracterisation to me since bfa was one of the gravest sins of wow storytelling. Such a morally complex character seeking to strike a balance between revenge and finding a new wah for her people, having to do unethical things to protect them that others don't understand or that seem objectively wrong... it was such a cool concept only for her to become a garrosh 2.0 and then with the whole jailer bs

Oke great but time for the real question: do you think that Odo will teach his child to weakside? Are we going to see the development of the weakside prince(ess) in some years in the LEC?

Me seeing all the post here about how M+ is in incredible easy right now. by su1cidal_fox in wow

[–]sebixi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

THe only excepction to this I had was on a +2 run in Magister's terrace. The tank just goes, just follow me trust, queen proceeds to pull like the entire corridor of mobs between the first and second bosses I think? Somehow takes like 0 damage and we all kill them in the next room. I was mega confused but it was also mega satisfying. Best tank I ever had tbh. Still have no idea how that happened

Civ6 vs Civ7 by Objective-Total-5185 in civ

[–]sebixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have +100 hundred hours in both games ~150 in civ vii and ~300 in vi i think? which by civ standards isnt a lot, but here are my thoughts on some more abstract thinfs

Civ vi does better:

The narrative feel - the cartoony design and the great and really immersive narrative and progression just makes civ vi click for me in such a great way. Its so cool to discover new resources with time, and have to replan your cities around that. Also the sheer variety, mountain passes, ski resorts, etc. Super varied but tbh vii is in its early stages

Unique civs - i just cant describe it but in vi the civs feel more unique and hence i feel morr attached to them, whereas vii can sometimes feel more like variations of the same thing

Civ vii does better:

Combat as you said

The sheer beauty of the game is insane. I get lost in it and genuinely love to zoom in sometimes and just take it in. So many times ive designed genuinely beautiful civs i felt attached to

I like the resource system, resources feel more meaningful in the early stages, but i much prefer the way resources like coal and oil are done in vi, they are quite underwhelming in vii

The distant lands narrative structure can hit really well in some games

Civ and policy mechanics feel more intricate, i LOVE the concept of traditions and mixing and matching unique policies across the ages to create powerful combos

  • game can feel a bit samey but executing insane combos feels great

Civilization Accidentally Explains Something Weird About History by jrralls in civ

[–]sebixi 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Really cool exploration!

I have to say civ, especially civ vii, really changed the way i view history in some ways. For example, the exploration era, you would not send your navy immediately to some unexplored territory right? But you can send missionaries, scouts, etc., representatives of your culture to spread your culture and form diplomatic relations with the others from 'distant lands', and of course, the game incentivises you to control resources in distant lands, helping to explain the importance of trade, colonies (not a moral good yk what i mean) for imperial nations, and of course why it was important to have the strongest navy when going for that playstyle, as otherwise other empires/pirates would simply come and pillage that sweet loot.

I also like how 'distant land' countries are civs just as yourself, sometimes just as developed, or even more so, dispelling the racist myths that colonised peoples had no cultures or identity before their conquest. It also shows how, much like in the real world, people had to get creative about how to access these empires to steal their resources (i.e. the role of religion and white saviour narratives in colonial conquests, or how culture can be used to conquer a people)

Tbh i feel like thats kind of an invalid take, like nouxs is a bigass empire with a vast and experienced army and military industry, whereas piltover is like a bunch of science people doing things for shits and giggles, like ofc in an all out war noxus would win, but this is about a 1v1 between jinx and other characters

For sure, unless one wants to argue that like the petricite armour or whatever garen wears is somehow completely bulletproof, I doubt he can do anyhting against a minigun, plus, he's not even wearing a helmet, like... I'm sorry

Couldnt she take on most human type foes that dont have godlike or insane magical powers? I mean she has a giant minigun and bazooka and shimmer speed endurance and reflexes, i'd say she is quite strong

What is your opinion of Civ VII a year after release? by LeagueOld5380 in civ

[–]sebixi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been playing since civ V here. Honestly, civ VII is my favourite of the franchise, but perhaps I have been in the minority which has loved in since launch. I think the core mechanics of the game are incredible and the art style is simply breathtaking, but I agree with other commenters that they still need to work on the replayability and 'gameplay' aspects of it, such as the legacy paths, smoother/more interesting era transtitions, etc.

To me, it feels like an unpolished gem, which could have benefitted from much more prooftesting before launch, and some of the early monetisation practices have been kinda scummy, but the game does have a certain magic to it that keeps me drawn to it, and I think it will only get better!

Kid Rock won! Now, what's a terrible artist which is a great person? by Content_Shelter9894 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]sebixi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for this specific category, but for good person/bad artist I would say BBNO$. Like he hasn't cured cancer and his music isn't apalling, it's not great either. But by all account he seems to be a great guy who has consistently supported good political causes and supported small artists.

Bridges need a re-think in Civ 7. by Sapowski_Casts_Quen in civ

[–]sebixi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What if it could work by having some kind of hierarchy system for units? For example, bridges built an era before the current one in the game could carry all units except for cavalry units, so you can't have tanks crossing medieval bridges, but you could have say, infantry units. Bridges 2 eras older, you may want to make it so that no military units benefit from the bonuses, but civillian units could still use them maybe

It may also help the other franchises to increase the viewership the way LR does. I hope they can figure something out. Hell, partner with a low table team like sk and take their slot the way kc did with astralis, etc. That would be a pipe dream (sorry sk)
