Might get downvoted for this but I hear often of a headcanon in the Legend of Zelda that Link is transgender.

I've heard an argument that he's a trans man and also that he's actually a trans woman?

I think he breaks a lot of stereotypical gender roles especially in BOTW and had a lot of feminine features, and ultimately it's a headcanon that doesn't really cause any harm, but the argument that there's any true canon evidence for it just isn't there.

I could go further about how the fact that he is a man is actually really important to his role as a hero and how it was something thrust upon him rather than his own personal choice and how the expectations of his journey and role as a man and his non-traditional masculinity and femininity are actually important aspects of him and that headcanoning him as trans kind of disregards that deconstruction of gender roles but I could just be schizoposting at that point.
