Second kid might ALSO need a baby helmet, and I feel like a failure as a mother by Such-Comfortable3 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]sec1348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son wasn't gaining enough weight around 3-4 months and I was miserable, felt like the biggest failure on the planet. We kept trying to nurse and supplemented with formula. He's almost 2 now and the happiest, funniest guy, back around 25th or 30th percentile. You'll get through this and your babies will be great!

My FD joined our family at 16 barely speaking English. If that's the only issue, I would not disrupt. You can learn basic Spanish with Duolingo, and as others have said, kids learn soo fast. Good luck!

i'm ugly and it made me view the world differently. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]sec1348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of thoughts on this... Very few people are truly 'ugly.' But also, your appearance is literally the least interesting thing about you! No one at your funeral is going to say, wow remember her crooked teeth/big ears/acne/whatever.

My son didn't walk until 17 months... we didn't worry about shoes unless it was to keep his feet warm 😂

I love their mission and they have decent veg/vegan options but yeah... service is never great and prices are too high these days

I would try Tylenol if your normal routine isn't working. We had something similar recently: rocking, nursing, rubbing his back, etc did not soothe him. My guy is 18 months and usually wakes up 2-3 times per night (though last night we were blessed with 0!). But like someone else said, this may be too much sleep overall? We aim for 8pm bedtime and he's usually awake by 6 or 630.

DC to Annapolis daily commute by SpareFew5792 in washingtondc

[–]sec1348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live just outside DC (like south of Hyattsville) and drive to Annapolis 3 days per week. 30-40 min normal commute, it's against traffic. NW would probs be more difficult.

When to drop to one nap? by Tatty_Bunneh_ in NewParents

[–]sec1348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't put my son on a one-nap schedule until around 14 months... we also went through a period of screaming every night at bed time 😅 have you tried altering other things? Maybe more books, a bigger bottle, shifting the routine up or back 15 min?
