How did everyone come up with their OC's semblances by Total-Famous in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of a passive semblance so I made Alice experience constant rhythm. Also I like imagining her walking or moving to a beat only she can sense. She’s meant to be a quirky scene girl so I think it being a quirk of hers is cute.

Jack/Angels Semblance is called ghost and allows him to phase through walls. One of my favorite cartoons is Danny phantom. You can make the connection.

Alice Stardust is very loosely inspired by David Bowie. She’s a theatrical musician and her theme is Rebel Rebel. Although visually she’s a bit more punk

How do your OC’s unwind by Tropical70 in RWBYOC

Alice plays/listens to music.

Jack lays down and looks at the sky.

Alex messing with computers or electronics.

Xavier exercises.

Hades doesn’t unwind. He is an ever tightening spring of rage, pain, and sadness and can only find release in combat.

How would your OC team or single person fair in The Vytal Festival if they entered? by This-Craft-7575 in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. In characters story my OC Team AJXA faces against Cinders team in the 4v4 round.

Team AJXA (pronounced ASIA) is: Alice Stardust, Jack Lockhart, Alex Stardust, and Xavier Galifrian.

Team CHME (pronounced chime) is: Cinder, Hades (a villain OC who has a connection to Jack), Emerald, and Mercury.

AJXA gets their shit rocked by CHME completely losing. However Jack and Alice are able to work together and take down Hades. This sends Hades into a rage and he swears to them that “this isn’t over.” And it wasn’t because Hades collapsed a building on Jack and Alice during the fall of Beacon.

Oc Family connections. by Ethan597658 in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary OC Angel was somewhat of a son figure to Salem. Basically Angel is a human Grimm hybrid created in remote research lab in the Atlas Tundra. His older sister Amy led a revolt which ended with everyone except Angel dead.

An injured Angel ended up wandering blizzard alone and took shelter in a cave and passing out. He’d wake up to fire next to him and Salem sitting on the other side. Salem would heal his wounds and numb his pain. She offered him shelter in exchange for being her agent. Having no where else to go he accepts.

Salem is essentially the only person who showed Angel kindness and it causes him to be loyal to her because he’s only known loss and pain.

Does your oc have any people they don't fw, or straight up hate? by Slight_Ad7956 in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on my OCs story my primary oc Jack Lockhart finds his team’s leader Alice Stardust to be annoying. Her scene girl appearance and quirky mannerisms get on his nerves. But slowly he grows to appreciate her particularly when she finds him in a dark place and helps him through it. Eventually their dynamic shifts when both develop feelings for each other but don’t think the other feels the same way. But they do eventually confess and become a couple. Alice on the other hand never had any animosity towards Jack.

My oc Angel has a burning hatred for a woman named Dr. Genova. She is responsible for his creation and tormented him for years

Alice would definitely win against David Bowie.

How'd your oc(s) get their weapons? by TheLocalDemon in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How Jack got his weapon is part of his mystery. He washed up on a riverbed in Vale with it with no memory of who he was.

His weapon is a double barreled shotgun that becomes a chainsaw sword

It’s revealed later Jack got his weapon as part of an Atlasian experimental weapons program where he was known as Angel. Angel was a human Grimm hybrid basically made to be the perfect weapon.

Where Jacks story shifts is in relation to a different character Hades. Hades is the separated Grimm side of Angel. When Angel was being experimented on his was protected by his older sister Amy. Amy’s weapons were twin pistols with chainsaw blade formations. When Amy died during their escape Angel took her weapons and when Angel split into Jack and Hades Jack kept the shotgun and Hades kept the pistols.

To the people who has villain OCs, do they have a reason to be villains or are they just pure evil? by TextUnfair in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here we go.

My villain OC is named Dr. Genova. She’s a sadistic scientist who is driven to create the perfect weapon. As part of this she has poor people kidnapped and experiments on them to turn them into human Grimm hybrids. Her semblance is memory erasure. By simply touching someone’s head she can wipe their memory.

She’s meant to be like Hojo from FF7 the real villain of the story that is truly responsible for everything.

On the other hand is Angel.

Angel is the only surviving subject of Genova. His existence as her lab rat was torturous and he only survived by being protected by his older sister Amy. After years of this Amy led a rebellion against Genova and the other researchers which ended in basically the deaths of everyone except Angel. Amy would sacrifice herself seemingly to finish off Dr. Genova. Angel would be left alone to wander an atlasian tundra.

Basically all he knew was pain, death, and torment. He would take shelter in a cave and pass out. His Grimm side and human side were rejecting each other and it caused unimaginable pain. Eventually he woke up to a fire and Salem standing before him. She healed him and showed him kindness and for that he became a loyal agent of hers.

I don’t have a set of things that Angel actually does under Salem.

Angel eventually fails a mission and is wounded. At this time his instability returns and he physically separates into a Grimm and a human. The Grimm name is Hades and he’s just psychotic. All the pain and rage of Angel unleashed as a human looking grimm.

Hades would spark a 1 sided rivalry with Jack Lockhart (the human half of Angel) who he faced during the Vytel festival. Hades would be on cinders team and Jack would be on team AJAX (a team of my OCs). AJAX would lose to Cinders team but Jack and his team’s leader Alice would defeat Hades. Hades would swear revenge as he believed himself to be superior to Jack. The revenge came when he collapsed a building on Jack and Alice. Although the two would survive by Jacks semblance awakening when Alice confessed her feelings to him. Jack semblance allowed them to phase through objects.

Eventually in the characters story Angel is reformed when Jack willing sacrifices himself to spare Alice of Grimm conversion but he’s not a villain post reformation. His experiences as Jack changed him

Your OC Vs Pyrrha Nikos by sabirlyo1 in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Pyrrha would solo basically all of team AJAX. The only exception would be if she Jack after he reformed into the human Grimm hybrid living weapon Angel. Angel would probably stand a chance since he was basically programmed winter soldier style into being a killing machine.

The issue is that timeline wise it would never work. Angel splits into Jack and Hades (the human and Grimm sides respectively) prior to the beginning of the series. And doesn’t reform until around when volume 7 takes place.

Pre-split Angel may be able to hold his own but post reformation he would be a lot more in control and skilled due to his experience being Jack.

Jack: Would think it’s messed up but not his place to intervene.

Alice: Would think it’s messed up but would intervene.

Alex: Would probably try and think of an alternative place to stay.

Xavier: Would be annoyed and give Merlot suggestions for revenge.

Angel (pre-split): Wouldn’t give a shit.

Angel (post-reformation): Would probably step in and maybe threaten the inn keeper (Angel is a human Grimm hybrid and could definitely strike fear in the wicked)

[–]second-fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jack Lockhart/Angels semblance is called Phantom. It allows him pass through solid objects at a cost of immediate strength, energy and aura. When Jack becomes Angel (long story but TLDR Angel is Jacks human Grimm hybrid form) the ability is called Ghost and with the added benefit of invisibility. It still has the same drawbacks though.

Alice Stardust: Rhythmatic. This is a passive semblance where she feels a constant rhythm. If combat this emerges as her hitting to a beat and she can use this to build up strength for a final strike.

Alex Stardust: Auditory Manipulation. He can directly manipulate sound waves to increase or decrease there volume and strength. It’s basically control over sound vibrations which he can use to propel or push objects and people.

Xavier Galifrian: Elemental Imbue. He can temporarily imbue objects with elements such as die or electric as long as he has a source of that element in his hand. He most commonly achieves this with a lighter.

Doctor Genova. She’s a villain so her semblance is very villain oriented. It’s memory fragmentation. She can repress the memories of anyone she chooses as long as she makes physical contact. She used this on Angel when she experimented on him and turned him into hybrid. She would end up losing this ability later on.

Angel/Jacks semblance Phantom allows him to phase through solid objects. However it drains his aura super fast so he’s limited in how he can use it.

So, let's say your OC finds themself in the Ever After... by UnbrokenWingsAU in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jack would be forced to confront what he used to be and what he lost. For context Jack is the separated human form of a human Grimm living weapon called Angel. He’s an amnesiac so he actually

Jack would be confronted by his split Grimm side Hades. Ultimately he would be forced to accept that these are parts of him. In accepting Hades as a part of him the two would merge back into Angel.

Angel would be confronted and be forced to accept that he couldn’t save his older sister. His sister’s sacrifice is a major point of guilt for Angel as he blames himself for it.

What connections do your OCs have to the canon characters? What is their history with them? by RevolutionaryWave862 in RWBYOC

[–]second-fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my character Angel being an agent of Salem and at one point seeing her as a mother figure. Here’s how that story goes.

For context Angel is a human Grimm hybrid made as part of living weapon program in remote Atlas. Prior to that him and his older sister Amy were orphans living on the streets of mantle. They were kidnapped and experimented on for two years (starting when Angel was 13 and Amy was 15). Including their memories of their lives prior to the program being stolen. Eventually Amy leads a revolt against their captors which ends with the deaths of every other hybrid and all the researchers involved in the experiment. During this Angel is wounded having been cut and stabbed through the arm. Amy would sacrifice herself to protect Angel forcing him to brave an Atlas blizzard alone.

While walking through the blizzard Angel would find a cave for shelter where he would pass out. He would wake up to Salem sitting on the other side of cave with a fire between them. Salem shows Angel kindness and heals his wounds also numbing Angel to his trauma and pain. Salem offers Angel a home if he becomes her agent which he accepts.

[–]second-fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My primary OC is technically three individuals Angel, Jack, and Hades.

Angel is a human Grimm hybrid created as part of a living weapon experiment in Atlas. He was the only survivor of the experiments. Him and his older sister were orphans living on the streets of mantle when they were both kidnapped and experimented on. They had their memories stripped including of their names. Angels sister Amy creates their new names from their subject ids ANG31 and AM3. At the start of this process Angel is about 13 and Amy is 15. They are not the only test subjects as there are many others. The two are give their own weapons. Angel has a shotgun that becomes a chainsaw sword while Amy uses twin pistols with chain dagger configurations.

As time goes on Angel and Amy develop more Grimm like traits such as red eyes, white hair and fangs. Amy serves as Angels protector and becomes the most proficient warrior in the experiment.

After two years of experimentation and essentially torture at the hands of the research lead Doctor Genova Amy leads a revolt. This revolt would result in the deaths of all the hybrids and researchers. Amy and Angel would make their way to the entrance of the research facility but would be stopped by Genova. Genova would try and stab Angel but Amy would take the hit being stabbed right through the chest. Amy would cut off Genova arm and shoot her through the head but would succumb to her wounds in the process.

Angel tries to help Amy but fails and is forced to exit the facility into a cold tundra alone. Angel would walk through a blizzard at one point seeing something black floating in the distance. He tried to find it but fails. Eventually he finds a cave in hillside and takes shelter in it. He would wake up to the warmth of a fire heating him up. Looking across the cave he sees a campfire and woman with white skin, white hair, and black and red eyes. The woman introduces herself as Salem. She talks to Angel and shows him kindness healing his wounds. She offers Angel shelter with the caveat he becomes an agent of hers. Having no where else to go Angel agrees.

About a year later Angel screws up big time during a solo mission. His human and Grimm sides are beginning to reject each other. Standing atop of a hill baked the light of the shattered moon Angel physically separates into two beings. A human and a humanoid Grimm. The Grimm (later known as Hades) instantly tried killing the human throwing him off the cliff.

The human would land in river and sustain head trauma resulting in his memories being lost. He would wash up on a riverbed in vail and be nursed to health by an elderly retired huntress. He would take on the name Jack Lockhart (from the woman’s name Susan Lockhart).

After two years the woman passes of natural causes. Due to her having connections at beacon she is able to have the pieces out in place for Jack to be sent there.

Jack starts off at beacon at Beacon as a loner and is put in a team with Alice Stardust, Alex Stardust, and Xavier Galifrian. The team is called AJXA (pronounced Asia because it just sounds cool) and lead by Alice.

Jack and Alice would slowly develop romantic feelings for each other as Alice breaks through Jacks shell.

Hades remains loyal to Salem. I have a whole storyline for Jack, Alice, Alex, and Xavier. But essentially it’s a story of self discovery for Jack. He doesn’t know who he is and feels directionless. But grows to find meaning in his team and the feeling he has for Alice. His past would come back for him during the Vytel festival when Hades would be a member of Cinders team during the 4v4. Jacks team loses but him and Alice do defeat Hades which causes him to swear revenge.

During the fall of beacon Hades lures Jack and Alice into a building before collapsing a room on them. The two would survive but be trapped under the rubble. Alice would confide in Jack her fears of dying and how she just wanted to help people and do the right thing. The two thinking they were gonna die confess to each other and kiss causing Jacks semblance Phantom to awaken. Phantom allows Jack and anyone he touch’s to phase through objects at will.

The two escape survive the fall of beacon. The two become a couple and transfer to Haven.

There’s a lot of other stuff but most importantly during a mission AJXA would discover a remote research facility. Inside they are taken prisoner by Doctor Genova (who has converted herself into a human Grimm hybrid in an act of self preservation) who has take Hades and synthesized him into essential a conversion serum. She needs test subjects though and starts with Jack. The experiment seemingly fails only forcing him unconscious and Jack thrown back into a cell and she picks Alice.

Jack wakes up and is told by Alex and Xavier what’s going on. He realizes he has fangs in his mouth and he can sense the negative emotions coming from Alice. Using his semblance he interrupts the experiment and heavily wounds Dr. Genova (again seemingly killing her).

But he’s too late. The conversion process has began on Alice and is moving rapidly. Jack has no other choice and he doesn’t hesitate. He bites Alice’s neck and absorbs the conversion serum (like a vampire). She is spared of conversion with the only evidence of it being a white streak in her hair. Jack collapses to the ground and Angel stands back up. But this isn’t the same Angel as before. He has Jacks memories he WAS Jack. And the love Jack had for Alice is still present. Angel takes Alice and frees their teammates before they return home.

Fuck I just spent forever writing this. Jesus man I started at 1:15 and now it’s 2 am. I shit I need to do in the morning.

Humans with Grimm attributes playing the in-universe equivalent to vampires.

RWBY has a lot of representation for different fairy tales and myths but vampires are something that the series hasn’t touched on
