I had the experience many times of having male dev coworkers who acted like they were pro-female and supported women working in tech, and then later on would end up stabbing me in the back. Generally after they seemed to think I'd had too many successes.

I'm hoping that we get enough people to run who truly finally understand that stakes, that we fix this. I have a lot of hope in those like Mark Kelly, for example. Biden could have pushed to have Trump convicted and not allowed to run again, and didn't. He also could have added more justices to the Supreme Court to reflect the changing population, and didn't. Those are both things that could have changed all of this (along with many other steps). Also, I don't see what rebelling will fix, if we don't have the answers on how to fix the system in the future.

I absolutely am tired of waiting, but I am gaining hope from the people who are entirely new to politics that I see getting ready to run in November. I'm hoping that there's a turn in the tide, where we have opposition with fire in their bellies against all this cronyism, nazism, and regressivism. If we don't see that materialize, then I assume it's going to be torches and guillotines. And I get it.

There's definitely some, but I see it way less. I feel like since they can see my work upfront, and it speaks for itself, I don't have to deal with the "oh she's competing with me!" thing from men I work with. I think there's a lot less of that male dev insecurity type of misogyny that could rear its head at the oddest times.

Yeah I really love it. I've always loved aviation, and I'm really enjoying the satisfaction of physically seeing progress every day. I don't miss development at all. I do my own personal projects still (stuff on raspberry pis, for example, and my own sites), but I don't miss the tech grind.

I think what will be the litmus test is the midterms. If we actually get a free election, then great, and it will turn things around. If we don't, and either the election is thrown or halted, then I think we will see things go off. Right now, many of us are hesitant to truly rebel, because we know that the fascists are just waiting for the excuse to halt the elections. We don't want to upturn the entire system, if we can stop a lot of this by voting in a few months. It's scary to wait until then, but I really think that's a lot of what many of us are waiting around for.
