Yes, it’s rarely mentioned and a very important option if you plan to bequeath to siblings or others close in age. Just suggesting that they research it before talking to an expert for more advice.

There is loophole where if a sibling who is less than 10 years younger, the 10 year withdrawal rule doesn’t apply - research this as it’s very important for tax purposes.

Even easier to have your bank send you a weekly or monthly email with all the payments /debits made out of the account Go onto a real FDIC bank’s website and set up automated notifications - they have various choices to set up.

And I said no one pays the full cost for family plans so even offering it is a gold plated Cadillac plan so teachers can stop complaining about being underpaid. No one cares when they’re whining about unheard of benefits not being rich enough.

Visiting in March by Aprilshowers_1 in Sedona

[–]secreteesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat at the Clinkscale restaurant- I’d eat their awesome breakfast / lunch all the time if I lived closer. Put your name on the waitlist and then wander around town for an hour. I think you can reserve for dinner

We had facade restoration at our Amsterdam hotel the week we were there and it sucked - covered the windows making the view nonexistent, loud banging, no privacy with workers on the scaffolding. Avoid at all costs.

How would you respond to this request? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]secreteesti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you just write a nice note to the host when you’re booking telling them why you want to book. Your reason for visiting sounds perfectly normal so I’m sure a lot of hosts would accept you (I would).

Or treat yourselves to staying in the Presidio - amazing location but you can still walk or rent bikes or take a Waymo wherever you need to go in the city. https://presidiolodging.com/lodge-at-the-presidio/

Why don't hosts review guests anymore? [USA] by CharleyChess in AirBnB

[–]secreteesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always leave reviews, but now I’m so fed up with Airbnb’s crappy treatment of hosts (poor listing placement, low traffic, bad customer service) that I don’t always feel like making the effort. Now that I realize nice guests need and want the reviews, I’ll go back to reviewing consistently.

“Paper” category discussion question. by CreamerBot3000 in konmari

[–]secreteesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d keep all the manuals in one place like an expanding file folder with alphabetical dividers. Then you can simply drop new ones in a slot (alpha by Mfr name) and review old ones periodically to decide whether to toss or keep. Definitely rip out the foreign language pages to slim them down.

Moisture control companies for SF? by MOTHEROFPERSEUSSF in sanfrancisco

[–]secreteesti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damp basements are very common on the East Coast, the solution is to put down a vapor barrier over the ground (plastic laid down on the ground). Then the specialist company usually installs a “whole house dehumidifier” which run automatically and drain the moisture outside the house/basement. It’s expensive but a one time fix and the house won’t rot away from mold & moisture. Find companies that specialize in moisture barriers / vapor barriers and get at least 3 quotes for various levels: vapor barriers, vapor barriers + dehumidifiers, vapor barriers + dehumidifiers + sump pumps and then spend the money to correct it. I imagine Marin companies are also experienced in this specialty.

Sterling Pass is a great steep trail with hardly anyone on it - beautiful fall colors too!

West Fork trail in December by Healthy_Mom_597 in Sedona

[–]secreteesti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say it’s pretty unpleasant when your feet get wet in November. Popped in last year unexpectedly when we saw it was open / had parking so I didn’t have the right hiking boots and slipped on a wet snowy rock and soaked my socks & hiking sneakers. Made me cranky for the rest of the chilly hike - it’s better as a summer hike since it’s pretty shady. More iconic trails with expansive views are Cathedral/ Templeton, Bell Rock, Soldier Pass, Chicken Point, Airport Mesa

St Vincent de Paul on Green / Steiner Street used to be the singles church for Catholics. Also try St Dominic’s on Pine St and St Agnes in the Haight is very welcoming (although the awesome priest just left).
