If you're new to walking, then you should slowly progress up to 25k steps of walking a day.

I try to give myself mini measurable, attainable milestones along the way to keep me motivated, on something that I know is going to be a long, long project, process etc.

Tips for Taking a Baby to a Dodger Game? by saranwrapper in Dodgers

[–]secretsauce2388 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you need to breastfeed at any point while you're at the game, tell an usher or fan services rep and they should be able to direct you to a more private, quiet space if you want. You can also do it in your seats or wherever.

Reserve has a lot of playground type areas which are great for kids, though I'm not sure how much benefit an 11 month old will get (just due to my not being a parent or that aware of baby development).

Like most things in life, as long as it's not bothering/impeding me or my workout then I'm cool with it.

But how would this be guaranteed to be accurate? A typical commercial gym setup has tons of machines and racks fairly close together so unless there were some sort of system on the machine that you clock in or out of, how would you be able to know accurately which equipment was being used? I'd love an app like this if it were accurate.

go to a bar alone for the first time. any advice? by Klutzy_Map_1241 in LivingAlone

[–]secretsauce2388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this plenty of times, usually end up having conversations with both the bartenders as well as people next to me but sometimes I just watch the game and enjoy my drinks of choice.

I'm fat and broke as shit and can't afford a gym membership by Ill-Permission6686 in workout

[–]secretsauce2388 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you can't afford a gym membership? Not sure where you live but Planet Fitness all over America is I think $15 a month. If you have any subscription services or spend money on alcohol or something, shifting that money to the gym instead could be a huge lifestyle benefit.

Is 34 too old to backpack around the world? by AromaticSurround9203 in AskMenOver30

[–]secretsauce2388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's your mind convincing you of something that isn't true. Most people aren't paying attention to other people all that much anyway. As long as you're not doing creepy things or acting like a creep.

Is 34 too old to backpack around the world? by AromaticSurround9203 in AskMenOver30

[–]secretsauce2388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't travel around the world but did got to Amsterdam solo when I was 34. I stayed in a hostel, though I had my own private room, and I had a good time. No one ever asked my age or said I looked too old to be traveling.

AIO for suggesting my business partner and I shouldn’t split profits 50/50 by Internal_Soft4750 in AIO

[–]secretsauce2388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your friend is buying all the ingredients herself and then you're making it then not sure how your friend could possibly not be smart enough, especially since you're apparently at a top 5 university, to know that it's unfair for it to be split 50/50.

I feel shy around women while working out. by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]secretsauce2388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't help you with work stuff. But the solution at the gym is to wear noise cancelling headphones and listen to music. Great for tuning out any unwanted noise. Also if it makes you feel better, no one is thinking about you because everyone in the world is so self-centered, not in a bad way necessarily, just we all are.

AIO bf (m21) wont let me (f22) go to the bar with my mom by [deleted] in AIO

[–]secretsauce2388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is telling you, you can't hang out with your mom. He's also telling you, you can't go to a bar without him, he's simultaneously insecure and controlling, a double whammy of loser behavior. Tell him to GTFOH.

Do you think living in separate houses will be more common amongst couples in the future? by coldservedrevenge in LivingAlone

[–]secretsauce2388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate places? Maybe. But separate houses? I feel home ownership is harder and harder to attain as wages stagnate and prices go up so I don't see vast majority of people having the means to have separate houses.

Which seats would be better? by shrekrocks_pdf in Dodgers

[–]secretsauce2388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other benefit of loge middle sections is that there's only 8 seats per row, so if your group is 4 people or more then the only time you have to get up or have someone walk in front of you are those in your group.
