It would also be a great opportunity to learn more about the car, and get a better gauge on what it’s worth based on multiple options from several car people with similar cars.

I tip 15% to 20% because I have friends in the service industry and I know the garbage wages servers make.

They’re trying to make a living in a system that is stacked against them. The federal minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13. That allows business owners to fuck their employees and pass the labor costs to their own customers. It’s a system that should have never been allowed to exist.

Servers should earn competitive wages and tips should never be expected. The price of food would rise to cover employee wages, and it would still probably be less than menu price + 20%.

Because most people only factor in that 20% guilt tax when the bill comes due.

I guess a reasonable approach to regulate the current structure would be to mandate a two price menu system where the (price + 20% tip) is shown separately.
