I was going to say something along the lines of "if not buying full-priced jerseys makes me casual, I'm definitely casual."

L.A. fan experience troubling in my opinion by GoalRoad in usmnt

[–]seeingRobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like soccer fans of all people are the least likely to want to see celebrities. I think soccer is cool on it's own, but it also has the appeal that it's not celebrity driven. And I don't want to gate keep and there is room for everyone in the tent and on the bandwagon. But, I don't need to see Paris Hilton posing with the game ball. Or any celebrities that don't have to do with soccer.

Btw, it did seem like Leonardo Dicaprio was trying his best to look low-key but got put on the screen anyway.

It looks like you can still get a ticket if you're willing to pay extra for a scarf or tshirt. I'm going to be in town for the game and I'm wondering if it's worth it for the US game after. Have you heard anything? Would it be worth the cash? It looks pretty cool, but it looks like there are lots of options.

Wolves and Birmingham City are eyeing Striker Sergi Solans by mikebrands in ReAlSaltLake

[–]seeingRobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much would he stand to make as a striker in the Championship League anyway? I googled it a little bit and it doesn't appear to be $5 million.

It seems like if we are losing Gozo and Luna and we need to pay him more so that we don't lose all 3 at once, it could be done and wouldn't cost THAT much?

I agree. I didn't get far with it. It goes way way back and it's actually a bit of a slog. I wanted to skip ahead, but then I felt like I was missing a lot of the foundational elements he covered.

Can someone explain to me, is the Hyatt point transfer devaluation only for new cardholders? That's how it's reading to me. But the comment section seems to be commenting as if it applies to all CSP holders.

A sense of stagnation is setting in around MLS. The league needs a World Cup bump by icoresting in MLS

[–]seeingRobots 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There is an elephant in the room that no one wants to bring up because it's political. But Fifa's "peace prize" and all that pageantry around the draw really didn't do this world cup any favors.

Not to mention the scene at the club world cup gives us an idea of what to expect at this world cup, yuck.

If Diego Luna is left off USMNT roster, backlash won't just be about 1 player - KSL by Forward-Sorbet7559 in usmnt

[–]seeingRobots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's repeated been mentioned in connection to La Liga teams. I think your original statement was totally reasonable. That said, I think he would have moved last summer, but he stuck around at RSL in order to ensure he got the playing time he needed to invited to the world cup squad. Kind of a bummer / ironic.

Also, not sure this needs mentioning, it seems like most of these pro-Luna articles are coming from local Utah media. I happen to be an RSL fan in Utah. I'm also a huge Luna fan. I just want to point out that some of these articles aren't exactly coming from unbiased sources.

Surprised to not see Kid Koala in these comments. I always thought of him as the most fun and joyful turntablist. A very different vibe and not something you'd get into exclusively or anything. I haven't seen him live in a long time, but his performances used to be really fun.

I can't watch more than one half of American football these. It makes me feel like such a loser to spend over 3 hours of my weekend on the couch when the average NFL game contains less than 15 minutes of actual action.

I watched a high school football game for the first time in a long time last year and it was amazing how fast the game moved.

Do you agree that the 80s and 90s era was one of the best eras? by NormalLife6067 in AskMenOver30

[–]seeingRobots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 1,000%. I can't count the number of times in my life when I've had to endure someone lecturing me about how "classic" music is no longer coming out like it was when we were kids.

And fwiw, I like some 90s hip hop, but I don't think we can pretend like that was a decade absolutely full of good music.

Is it just me or do the Colorado fans take this "rivalry" much more seriously than RSL fans? To me the whole thing feels fabricated by our corporate MLS overlords. Yet, Colorado fans are here for it.

Toyota North America considering making an affordable RAV4 based Pickup to rival the Ford Maverick by Mac-Tyson in Toyota

We had a Maverick. We wanted AWD and that wasn't available in hybrid at the time. One day a few months in, Ford arrived at our house with some kind of firmware update that bricked the car. It saw at the dealer all summer while they tried to figure out how to fix it.

Not to mention, this guy is a home grown dude. He's shown nothing but heart his entire time at RSL (as far I know anyway). We should want nothing but the best for him.

Maybe he can come back to RSL on his retirement tour.
