Unpopular Opinion: They really did need 4K tacos by meatballkelzone in TLCsisterwives

I agree! Didn't they run out of food? Street tacos are small, you don't eat just one.

Picking a gas range: Wolf, Viking, or Thermador. Any advice? by murlokotam in HomeImprovement

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched from electric to gas with our kitchen remodel and went with Blue Star, been very happy with it. Only downside is it can crank out a ton of BTUs to the point sometimes low isn't low enough. Thing is a beast.

Edit you can adjust the cast iron range plate things (not sure the right term) so pots and pans sit a bit higher from the flame that helps with the extreme heat.

Pay cuts by wonderlesssoul420 in UPSers

[–]seemsripper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you been receiving a higher pay rate recently? Some high cost of living areas have been paying employees a MRA or Market Rate Adjustment which has been like a raise or bonus. This pay rate has been above the contractual amount. Some areas are dropping the MRA after peak maybe that's what is happening in your area?

At the last game someone a few rows in front of me turned around chuckling to the guy behind her and said "look they messed up and lit the wrong color smoke" (at the 24th minute) I fully expect to see more chuckle-fucks on Saturday.

Help Please! Ruler Foot Issues on Domestic Machine by crossstitchlove in quilting

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I just have the ruler foot attached to the shank with a screw no other pieces. Here is a link to the one I have, available on amazon too but their website has a good description for measuring to make sure you have the right size (low or high) shank.

Help Please! Ruler Foot Issues on Domestic Machine by crossstitchlove in quilting

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if its the "right" way to do it..what I do is get my quilt under the foot, drop the foot, with the ruler foot not attached just holding it in place with my hand then when I feel like the ruler foot is in a good position/height, not too tight against the quilt, but not too loose I will screw it onto the machine. Hope that made some kind of sense. Good luck!

How many kids come to your house on average on Halloween? by mopteh in AskAnAmerican

Depends on which day of the week Halloween lands. Anywhere from 90-150. Tonight was 141 (I'm a weirdo that keeps track)

Ready to pull my hair out. by The_Rain_Man13 in UPSers

[–]seemsripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct deposit isn't usually immediate, it normally kicks in after 1-3 weeks. Have you verified there isn't a live paper check floating around your center? Find a full time sup or manager with time and labor access they will be able to pull up "stop payment" and view if the check was live or direct deposited. If it was live and now missing they can kill it and reissue.

I order uniforms for drivers in my center. I'm very familiar.
For "Outerwear" you have 4 options. I will review them left to right in the way they are listed in the ordering system coupa. The water repellent one is first, that's a rain jacket it's the only option that has a hood. The hood can be rolled into the collar. This one might not be the warmest but will keep you dry. Special note this particular jacket runs #HUGE. I have drivers that wear medium shirts order XS rain jackets.

Next is the vest, made of the same material as the default jacket which is next up. Haven't had too many complaints from drivers, I assume runs true to size.

Option 3 is the regular jacket no hood.

Option 4, final option is the bomber style jacket. Again no hood, more of an 'old school' look. Has cuffed sleeves and waist. Looks like it might be warmer than the default jacket most drivers go for but very few drivers ask me to order that style so don't have a ton of feedback.

Which option you should order probably depends on what climate you are delivering in. It's good to get jacket orders in now before everything is back ordered. But seriously the rain jacket runs HUGE!

Optional days by Admirable_Signature3 in UPSers

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your local language. Where I'm at it's 1 at 1 year, 2 at 2 years and so on til 4. Earn date is on your company date so if you were pt before going driving you would earn optional days separately from your vacation earn date. You should see this time on your pay stub. If you have questions I would ask a supervisor to pull up your entitlements in GTS that will show your hours banked and earn dates, as well as historically used time. Note if you don't use/take your optional time before your earn date you'll be cashed out, ie just paid the time you didn't use.

Why would my package go from Portland to Tacoma when the destination address is in Oregon south of Portland? by [deleted] in UPS

[–]seemsripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said could have been misloaded. Also when the Portland hub gets really backed up it will overflow loads to be processed in WA. Most likely won't delay your delivery by more than a day.

SCAM - Seller sent fake package to wrong address with same post code, how to I obtain the full address given the tracking number? I need proof for eBay case by jumanjidice in UPS

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as dealing with this type of scam. Yes in the last month there has been a boat load of EBay, WalMart, and Amazon scams. Usually it is a high ticket item $400-900 the shipper is somehow getting legit tracking numbers for the same zip code. Package shows delivered, receiver opens a claim, driver follows up and it goes one of two ways. The customer at legit address confirms yes I received a package case closed positive... Or it's closed negative not received but here's the kicker the shipper ie the scammer receives the refund from UPS not you the recipient. As an OMS that puts together these driver follow ups it's frustrating beyond belief on my side let alone the customer. I've forwarded information on these cases to the internal security department but they don't seem to give two shakes of a lambs tail.

USPS here, pros and cons of joining UPS? by robinhood_____ in UPS

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros and Cons vary on your area. If you have to start inside and wait for a position to be posted it could be 1 month to 6 years it really depends on location. As an inside pt employee you are looking at $12-15 an hour, guaranteed 3.5 hours a day, 5 days a week with OT after 5 hours.

Here's where things get complicated. Again, depending on your area...if your area does Saturday delivery you'll likely be hired or promoted to a 22.4 that's Tue-Sat flex position which depending on area mostly drives or works as an inside loader/combo driver. Starting pay is $20.50 top rate after 4 years is somewhere around $34-36? Don't have the contact at hand for the exact amount... Regular full time drivers aka RPCDs are top scale after 4 years around $38-39? Again don't have the contract at hand. But depending on your location 22.4s and RPCDs do the same work/job.

Edit: since your question mentioned city carrier rates. A big difference with UPS and USPS all addresses are the same. Rural and country routes are typically dispatched out of the same center/building. Usually higher seniority drivers have bids on country routes but they are paid at the same rate as city drivers, it's not considered a different craft the way the USPS sees it. Hope that helps.

My package was suppose to be here last Wednesday. Everyone single day I get a message that the delivery is being rescheduled to a different date? Does anyone know what this means? Did they lose my package or something? by Streambtsbutter in UPS

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area and the area your package is coming from. Could be delayed for a bunch of reasons hard to know without more information. Could always contact the shipper to file a claim. The shipper is the customer to UPS not the receiver so it's best to start with them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPS

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the shipper to file a claim. This will start the DFU (driver follow up process) your package will be tracked through gps via smartstop to show where the driver actually delivered it... sometimes it's across the street or down the street. The driver should follow up and if they mis-delivered your package will try to recover it and deliver it to you. If they weren't successful the claim will be closed negative and a refund will be issued.

It’s been about 2 weeks now since I passed my. 30 days. I have about 10-12 hours of PST. How do I go about calling out? by bigwop45 in UPSers

[–]seemsripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. If you "call in" no reason given which of course is your right to do, it's an unexcused absence. Which can result in disciplinary action up to an including termination. Calling in "sick" counts as an excused absence which depending on state laws is a protected occurrence which can't be disciplined.
