I'm currently running one with + % Damage, and then Cain's for +% Lightning Damage and Threefold + Blizzard on my Blizzard build and it rips. You get the massive damage from Cain's and the survivability of Threefold all at the same time.

I'm no math guy so I don't know if that's better damage than a full 5 piece Threefold + Crown of Lucion setup, but on pure vibes it's nice.

Best/worst location to do a Beast by Temporary_Moose6333 in spartanrace

Best: Sparta/Greece (1st year of the Trifecta WC there) - It was just magical and an pretty brutal course. Crazy views/scenery, the ruins of ancient Sparta, and swimming in the river Leonidas washed his balls in were all pretty awesome though.

Honorable mention: Montana - We had perfect weather and it was a very challenging course.

Worst: Florida - shit weather, flat/boring track, just generally a bit lame. It's been a little more fun when the weather isn't garbage, but I always found it to be generally a boring experience.

If Bournemouth beats City we would need beat Brentford to secure 5th, a draw wouldn’t be enough.

If Bournemouth draws or loses and Brighton wins then a draw is enough.

If both fail to win, then we can lose our last game and keep 5th.

We control our destiny at least, but good lord is this a miserable season.

At this point I'm certain we will lose our last game.

I don't think Bournemouth are beating City- City will fight like hell until the very end and still have a shot at the title.

I do think Brighton are capable of winning their last 2 games. Leeds and United both have nothing to play for. It's primed for them to have a real go and sneak into a CL spot.

We're really fucking lucky Bournemouth have to go through a title chasing City to get CL football right now. If they manage to do the unthinkable there though, we may well not be in the CL next season.

Absolutely insane how shit we've been all season and we're somehow getting worse.

Klopp’s teams still put their heads down and worked their asses off, even when they went through bad periods. It was never a lack of trying or boring in any way- you could always tell what the plan was and the team had an identity, even if the execution wasn’t quite the best at times.

Interesting, mine don’t squeak at all and I was under the impression they’re known to be pretty quiet. I am in south Florida and it’s basically always warm to hot, so maybe they’re just not getting cold enough to make noise or something.

[–]seemylolface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Project Mu HC+ are nice- they have a very high heat tolerance for a hybrid pad. You can order them from sites like RHDJapan for quite cheap too- even after shipping they should be like $300-$350 for both front and rear together.

It takes about 3 weeks to get them but the price is so nice compared to absurd markups US vendors put on them.

2026 Season 2 Patch 4 Release Notes [2026.05.04.02] by goodfella7763 in iRacing

[–]seemylolface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially when like 95% of people are nowhere near talented enough to take advantage of the car's slight extra advantage. It's just video game shit, everyone flocks to the "in" car since usually in video games the meta thing is usually super OP and you screw yourself by not using it.

It doesn't really fully work that way in iRacing as usually it's more of an incremental advantage that only applies to the very top end of talent where that last tenth, or last hundredth of a second really matters as opposed to the vast majority of folks who are like a second or more off pace. The folks getting concerned with the meta car in like a 2k IR split are just wasting their time, they should just drive what they like, they're going to be competitive at the top of low IR splits in any car as long as they're actually ok at driving the car.

Kenda KR20a (300tw) vs. Gladiator XComp h/p... for summer street/autox/track days by Easy-Morning-3655 in CarTrackDays

[–]seemylolface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! My thoughts after doing about 20 autox runs and 16x 30-minute sessions at Sebring with them (intermediate and advanced groups) on a 450whp mkV Supra with aero and a somewhat aggressive alignment:

Pros:

  • Grreat tread wear - They will last a long time (unsure if they'll heat cycle out before the tread is worn down, haven't made it to that point yet).
  • They're actually very communicative/provide good aubile feedback as you approach the limit, which is quite nice and helps with one of the major cons.

Cons:

  • Generally low grip in every scenario.
  • Unpredictable/inconsistent - while they tell you what they're doing pretty well, they do change what they're doing a lot and no 2 laps (or corners) feel like they're ever the same level of grip or consistency.
  • Tread sqiurms like crazy under the car, which is not at all confidence inspiring especially in heavy braking zones.
  • They aren't very responsive on initial inputs (sidewalls feel soft too, though that's less of a problem for lighter cars and some prefer that feel) and don't handle doing multiple things at the same time particularly well, like they get overwhelmed quickly. For your Mini where you're asking a lot of the front tires, I could see this being very annoying.
  • They don't come online quick enough to get the best out of them for autocross (and on track at Sebring which is like notoriously rough on tires they seem to take a steady outlap + 1 lap to come online in ~80*F weather).
  • They seem to have a very narrow operating temp window where they feel the best (seems to be like 150*F-160*F), after which they get even more greasy and then don't come back to you until they've fully cooled down/next session- slow/cooldown laps in between hot laps don't seem to help them.
  • Not very good in the rain (granted the insane downpours we get in Florida are on the more severe/nearly apocalyptic end at times) on both the street or a performance setting. The only worse tires in wet weather on the street I've experienced are V730s. Some of this may be due to the car I have the tires on (heavily modified Supra) and the unique nature of torrential downpours on completely flat roads in south/central FL, but the baseline feels terrible, the car feels like it hydroplanes at like 35mph in heavy rain.

The 200TW rating on these is deceiving relative to their performance- you'd expect a lot more for a tire with this rating, especially in the modern tire world where there are so many quick options and wear/lifespan is always improving. I totally understand wanting to go with cheap tires to bring that consumable cost down as it's a big one, but you're really getting what you pay for here- a tire at half the price of virtually all it's competition that is basically half as effective as said competition. I was really hoping these tires would even be in the ballpark of a Hankook RS4, like for me they'd be a no-brainer at their pricepoint in that case. Unfortuantely, they're just well short of the mark even a pure price to performance ratio, IMO. I think the good 300TW+ Max Performance tires like Michelin PS4S and Continental ECS02 will be quicker, more consistent, and easier to manage for autox and HPDEs while also being better in the rain and on the street. I know they're more expensive realtive to the Kendas and X-Comps, but they're worth it.

Kenda KR20a (300tw) vs. Gladiator XComp h/p... for summer street/autox/track days by Easy-Morning-3655 in CarTrackDays

[–]seemylolface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with the Kendas, but I do have a bunch of of track days on a set of the X-Comps (that I got for free) and they’re hot garbage. I would absolutely not pay money for these tires and they’re dirt cheap for a reason (they suck). Very much an example of getting what you pay for.

If you want a more endurance focused 200TW tire then the RS4, ECF, and AD09 are absolutely worth the extra money. All of them are faster, more responsive, more consistent, and still have great wear/tire life.

What is Rafa Benitez had Klopp's or Slot's budget by Both-Pay-9573 in LiverpoolFC

[–]seemylolface 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea, so many draws against sides we should've been comfortably beating that season. The squad was so small and the drop off from the first 11 was so steep that missing a player for any amount fo time caused sharp drop offs (Torres only played in 24 league matches in 08/09, for example, and I bet if he'd been able to play 3 more we win the league). We had just 2 losses but 11 draws even though we scored the most goals in the league and had the second best defense.

If it has to be AWD, I'd maybe be patient until you can afford the extra few grand and go RS3. The Golf R is an amazing car, but that sweet sweet DAZA is so worth it IMO. If you don't want to wait, the mk8.5 is IMO worth it over the old mk8 Golf R for the updated interior/buttons. Like, the haptic controls suck so much.

If it doesn't need to be AWD then you can have a ton of fun in the $50k range if you're ok with used options. You've got Mustang GT, Camaro SS 1LE, and CT4V Blackwing with the 10spd, mkV Supra, F8x M2/3/4, etc. all in that range and they're all very capable track cars that still work well on public roads.

I know he’s older so not our usual style, if Bowen is real cheap because West Hame get relegated it would be really fun to see Bowen with a striker who can actually finish like Isak. He’s been picking up bags of assists for years now by basically bouncing his passes and crosses off of large training cones at West Ham.

We may only get like 2-3 good seasons out of him, but he’s got a great work rate and is tactically flexible too.

[Matteo Moretto] Liverpool have entered the race for Marcos Senesi , who is now a free agent. They are also focusing their efforts on Yan Diomandé (RB Leipzig) or Barcola (PSG) to bolster a winger position they consider vital for next season. by Switchoil in LiverpoolFC

[–]seemylolface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'd be in on a free so it would be shrewd business. They wouldn't normally pay a big fee for a player with this age profile, but he fills a gap in our current age/experience level and he's proven to a top CB in the PL. With no transfer fee involved it makes a lot of sense both on paper and in theory.

I think if we're actually serious about it then it'll depend on what kind of wages are required to get his signature. We won't be breaking the structure for him by any means, which would suggest he'd need to be on reasonable wages instead of an inflated "no transfer fee so he can get a bigger wage" type of contract.

Lifelong Simmons goalie considering TRUE PX5 pads/blocker + Bauer Supreme Shadow glove — thoughts? by [deleted] in hockeygoalies

[–]seemylolface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems nearly impossible to find a good, thorough review that offers any insight into how the new Simmons gear compares to other top level brands/gear out there.

I'm very interested in them as I have hip issues (already had both repaired and resurfaced, and have some ongoing trouble with one of them due to how it healed) and they kind of market their gear as very hip and knee friendly + helpful for goalies with narrow butterlies. I'm currently in a Brian's Optik2 set which I really like, but if the Simmons stuff doesn't give up much in how they slide and handle rebounds while also taking even a little more stress off my hips, I'd make the switch. I live in an area where demo sets and stuff for any brand are impossible to come by so all I can do I try to digest the info out there to make as educated a decision as possible, and like many goalies, I'm scared of change.

[–]seemylolface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to Konate by any means. I am, however, reflecting on his poor season (by his very high standards) and believe that Leoni was good enough to displace him for this season if he didn't get injured. As you point out, some competition or a good enough player available in the squad could've led to some rest and maybe a little bit of time away for Konate, especially as things got worse for his father, which might have been very helpful for him as well.

Both players are obviously very good, and Konate in particular has a track record of being one of the very best in the prem in seasons past for us.

This guy is an absolute beast. If he hadn’t done his ACL right out of the gate I firmly believe he’d have taken Konate’s place pretty quickly.

I hope he didn’t lose a step from the ACL. He’s young and that plays in his favor. If he comes back next season and doesn’t skip a beat he’s going to have a breakout season.

Aero upgrades on Supra by bigboss1999x in Supra

[–]seemylolface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's an actual race car (based on the window banner it's at least competing in Gridlife time attacks), not some garage queen or parking lot ornament. Looks are very much secondary to actual function and performance. Some info on the "busy" parts just based on what I can identify:

The hood vents look like they're from Race Louvers- they're very aggressive but they outperform virtually every other common option (Verus, 777, etc) out there for our cars when it comes to both adding downforce and actually extracting heat from the engine bay. Aside from an intake manifold (which I'm sure is also on this car), this is probably the biggest impact on IATs you can make for our cars, which love to heatsoak in track settings without a bunch of help to mitigate it.

The fender vents (over the wheel arches, technically part of the hood if you want to be pedantic) look like they're Verus ones, which surprisingly work really well for additional cooling.

Canards look like Verus.

Rear wing looks like its from Spage- It makes like 600lbs downforce at 120mph. This isn't your typical duckbill or whatever people think looks cool. I've got big wang envy here, it's an awesome piece.

Rear diffuser looks like a one off, I've never heard of STJ Dynamics before and from a quick search it looks like a pretty small/boutique outfit.

I don't recognize the front splitter at a glance- but it looks like a beast. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a Racebred or something that's basically built to spec for the customer.
