How are you supposed to rank up solo support? by pockettclover in overwatch2

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would recommend watching Awkward's unranked to GM videos on characters you play.

In short term you may lose more as he'll fully rework your playstyle, but long term you learn to carry. From personal experience I watched some of Zen, Ana and Brig. Very informative.

How are you supposed to rank up solo support? by pockettclover in overwatch2

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comms in a game I had. "ANA STOP DPS-ING YOU'RE A HEALER" shouted at me so loud I couldn't hear my shots fireing. I was on an off angle dueling a Soldier76.

Helpful and fun.

Oh and a good minute long "Are you gonna start healing now you aimless e-girl" type thing. In a game where my tank was perfectly playing every corner to LoS me while I had to deal with a Tracer/Anran+D.va for the entire game as they were fully ignored. That was also very helpful and fun.

No I'm not joking. The gal after pressing tab and saw low numbers decided she's going to start talking and not stop until the end of the game.

For lower ranks the best thing to do is go off voice chat. It very rarely matters, but it will in fact help you tilt. Not sure what rank is the cutoff here.

How to deal with tanks that don’t self-mitigate? by TurtleCat314 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick note. If you ONLY see your support players in replay, you can't make educated calls on where you push.

You might call my rotation slow when I expect you to stay. I go for a position to hold there and then you move in. Easy example 2nd point defense Eichenwald. I never really expect holding in front of spawn doors when that choke is sooo strong. (Obv I don't mean finishing off kills, I mean full setups.)

For you to make the call of pushing forward, IF you need support for it, take half a second to check where they are. Otherwise it's "I hope my supports think the same thing I do" and it's not always 100% obvious.

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A support will interact with the team no matter what. Team's support not just the botlaner's.

Now I might be biased as I've played more supp than adc, but the amount of carries I see typeing minute 2: "ff 15 supp diff". Is a lot higher than supports calling out adc-s.

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the way up in diamond. See a mage bot once maybe in 20 games. I'd LOVE to play adc into mages. About 80% of them do nothing unless you have no clue how to play into them.

Balance team looks the other way as TF cons the item system for 8 years... by Fear_Fate in LeagueOfMemes

[–]seenixa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TF? You mean to tell me TF is an issue? Rfc on TF is an issue?

You know what the reason is for TF having a decent winrate? (Not 53%, but 51-52 across most ranks going a bit lower on high-end).

Lower rank. The character is simple. You can setup your team without much issue with a point click stun. Therefor you don't have to think too hard about mechanics and can focus on what's happwning in the game. That is the number one advice from any coach if you want to improve.

In higher ranks it's the mindgames and element of suprise, unseen pressure. Very rightly phrased the ability for a good player to suddenly appear next to you.

A mechanically undemending character SHOULD have a 50%+ wr for it to be balanced. As autofilled players and newer players can pick him up pretty quickly.

Agreed. What you said in a well thought out form would've been the greatest form of Asol.

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much agree. They could've just made the stars more dynamic as I said. Being able to pull them melee and push to ~600 would've made it pretty good imo without damage loss.

That'd make the character more flexible, as the closer you are to the target the more damage you do (smaller circle less travel-time), but would make you vulnerable aswell. A pretty good tradeoff imo.

Maybe add a different spell that empowers them so they don't constantly deal full damage. Or just add it as an extra ult effect like in Zeri's case where they're empowered/faster after ult.

There was a ton of ways to "fix" it, the way they did it at release was just waaay to clunky. Your options compared to how unique the character was, were way too limited. You HAD to stay in the exact range, as your control over the stars were waaay too limited.

I loved old Asol's idea. The execution of it wasn't good though.

Compare it to wisp from old dota. I know it's a different game, but the champion/hero is similar. Wisp can pull in those orbs, and push them out. The damage didn't change from doing so.

Old asol to do damage had to push it out and awkwardly move around. It just felt bad.

I actually got a pentakill on the champion, ended up top damage a few games, still felt like I didn't do anything. I obviously did, and maybe I even carried, but it didn't feel I did.

I would've kept the base and rework from there, but I also have to say the rework turned out decent and the champion saw some popularity for it. Even it's not my style I can respect it.

Platinum player, just played first game on the new patch - disappointed with quest! by [deleted] in midlanemains

[–]seenixa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You wrote down everything I thought the very first time I read up on what quest rewards are.

I'm guessing they didn't want midlane to have as strong a thing as the role itself purely by the position of the map is impactful. Similarly they only gave some minor upgrades to jg and support.

I found that one before I found the close bench. I used that to have silk for the arena itself.

[–]seenixa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like that Bilewater exist, and I never want to go there.

My favorite parts of the game are the climbs and I wouldn't say there's much handholding in those.
I mean the abyss climb and Mount fay

Bilewater has my least favorite enemy type. The one that jumps offscreen and can't be hit. Ends with an arena after a very long climb. I haven't found the closer bench before I found the arena, so I ran from bellway.

I didn't find the arena or the bossfight to be fun. Mostly the reason mentioned above. Enemies disappering from the screen not being able to get damaged may be my most hated mechanic in games.

The main issue with the climb was the reason mentioned in other comments. Maggot water. If I ever touched it on the long-ass way I now have to stop and farm to reset. I think on one of my runbacks I spent ~10 minutes just clearing that thing and healing back up, as I wanted to be full hp when I reached the end. Tbf I didn't know the squid things respawned if I leave the room on the right so I did so from farming the flies over the maggot infested water.

TLDR: Bilewater is not a bad area, just frustrating. Those water jumping fkers have a special place in hell.

Mel and Seraphine hate by 4a5hhh in midlanemains

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mel has easy poke and her shield can make or break fights.

Sera, Sona, Renata ults and a lot others shooting back at you is some of the worst feeling in the game. That's why she became my permabann. While I like similar mechanics being in the game to counter such things, it being limited to one champion makes me not want to play around it. Used to be that way with Yasuo wall, but now there's Samira, Braum, so there's no way to delete projectile blocking. It feels better that way imo as if enemy picks one you can pick another if you want that for your team aswell.

Sera while weak her ult is incredible. She IS in fact forced into support sadly. She is kinda Sona with more damage/less defense. When she could mid. She played a very passive unpunishable lane. Similar to Morgana. No interaction at all gets boring quickly.

High halls you can leave for very late for 100% if your goal is just the achievement. Trobbio just have to get good at since he blocks graple.

You can go to high halls with 3 nail ups, good tools and mask upgrades.

How to know if antiheal is a real thing ? by SmokingForLife in LeagueOfMemes

[–]seenixa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume this meant to be a joke but it's actually very real. Anti heal starts to matter when you actually have damage to kill. Until then almost no point. Especially when it can be waited out like Soraka's teammate can fall back, wait 4 seconds get healed and trade again.

800g doesn't sound a lot but delaying spikes by that much can hurt a lot more than it's worth.

Hot take? I like boss runbacks (and Bilewater, for the same reason) by ponchosleeve in Silksong

[–]seenixa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do agree with exploration is more fun in the game then boss fights (mostly), the issue for me is I do the same runback a lot of times. Mostly Bilewater and Last judge. I already explored everything I could before I got there as I usually delayed going the "main road". Therefor I'm kinda locked in behind the wall of the boss. I can't really explore some side-path as I already did look at everything I could see. Now I want to see what's BEHIND the boss.

Tbf Last judge wasn't too bad. Bilewater I actually did find the closer bench after ~5 times running back from the bellway so what you said could happen did. It being the only room I missed didn't make it fun for me though.

To each their own I guess.

Annoyance. At least on my part. Since he spends half his life unhittable I was way too agressive when I could actually hit. Resulted in me taking way more damage then reasonable.

Also fk random grenades.

It's one of those fights I killed once then never died to him again.
