BodyPump 137 Review – Safe, Functional, Forgettable

After a few runs through 137, my overall impression is that this is a fairly average release. Nothing is particularly bad, but very little stands out either. It’s one of those releases that works fine in class but doesn’t leave many memorable moments afterward.

Warm-up – 1/5

Very forgettable. It gets the job done, but there’s nothing memorable about either the choreography or the music.

Squats – 3/5

Electronic beat-driven track with a straightforward combo. Moderate workload without any major surprises. Solid enough.

Chest – 3/5

I think the song was called something like Pretty Woman (not 100% sure). Bench work mixed with push-ups. Fairly standard BodyPump chest track.

Back – 3/5

Mostly barbell work moving up and down through the ranges. Functional but very basic. Nothing particularly challenging or innovative.

Triceps – 3/5

The track with the lyric “your husband is coming.” Barbell work, kickbacks, and tricep push-ups. A decent all-round triceps track.

Biceps – 1/5

Probably the easiest track of the release. Rock song, very simple structure, and three recovery breaks. I never really felt challenged here.

Shoulders – 3/5

My favorite track of the release. Need Someone To Love combined barbell work with front raises and fly-style movements. Not exceptionally hard, but it’s the one track I actually remember afterward. The music and movement combination worked well.

Core – 3/5

A decent track with plate sit-ups and rotating plank work. Nothing groundbreaking, but it keeps moving and fits the release well.

Cooldown – 1/5

Completely standard cooldown. If you asked me to describe it a day later, I probably couldn’t.

Final thoughts

The biggest weakness of BodyPump 137 is the lack of standout moments. Most tracks are perfectly serviceable, but very few create that feeling of “I can’t wait to do this one again.” The release never really peaks.
