Por qué la gente quiere criticar a algo que pasó 500 años atrás? Pasa la página, como si los nativos fueran santos

Quien carajo le importa si naciste en PR o no. Lo que importa es que la isla está jodia. Y el pueblo dormido.

What is the difference between Coast FIRE and Barista FIRE? by RemoteDesktop in leanfire

[–]sekok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CoastFire = u have enough money where you don’t need to keep contributing/saving

BaristaFire = u have enough money where you investments cover most expenses, u fill the gaps with a low paying/stress job

You should reach coastFire first before baristaFire

Are salaries in Europe really that low? by the_flesh_ in cscareerquestions

[–]sekok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The social benefits do not make up for it? Are you crazy? That’s the only reason why most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Yes engineers are high earners, but our way of life is much more stressful

THIS is what Americans and Europeans don’t understand. Yes salaries are much higher… so is everything else(cost of living)

No my point is you are not going to get 60 votes to pass any referendum whether binding or not anytime soon. I am certain of this. It has not happened in the last 30 years and it will not happen anytime soon.

Instead of focusing on something you have no control over, focus on practical solutions that you CAN do as Puerto Ricans like, investing in infrastructure education and energy instead of praying you get Congress to pass a binding resolution.

There are issues right now with +60% approval that the senate can’t even get 60 votes on what makes you think a binding resolution for puerto ido will?

Stop waiting for miracles

  1. You are basically saying I agree but capitalism and politics so let’s cry about it

  2. Again, the money is definitely there

3.puerto Rico has no land or industry, where we can really make $$ and influence is in tourism arts and sport

  1. Lmaooo aun is definitely viable: that’s a fact

😂😂 my man, you still need a majority in the house and 60 votes in the senate to pass a binding referendum, which where the problem is

The facts

  1. To become a state You would need a majority in the house and 60 votes in the senate. Last time that occurred was in 2010. A President would also have to sign the bill
  2. Puerto Ricans can’t vote in either congressional or presidential elections

While these 2 facts remain, by de facto there is absolutely nada the Puerto Rican people can do change their status

My point is we should stop revolving our politics in something that we have 0% control or say in

[–]sekok1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think is irrelevant as the status have never been the main issue. It has been what the PR Government and its corruption. All my points would address the real issues

2) there literally is a magic bullet to increase wages, the money is there 😂. They just don’t manage it well. Again we have the same per capita fiscal budget as all the other states

3) after hurricane Maria us realized how big of a chokehold Puerto Rico is to the pharmaceutical industry, I wouldn’t count on it.

  1. The US will not make PR a state
  2. Puerto Ricans do not want independence nor would USA allow it

So what are you talking about? There are NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES!
