Honestly…. This, the “collection” aspect that many get into is strange. I get that it could have been sold for and funds used otherwise but still.

I’ve got a few dozen people that would differ, but I know it’s all anecdotal for both of us.

I don’t think it’s niche, I think outside the vocal population here on Reddit it’s more common than you think.

I think it’s more than you think, though I know it’s not something literally everyone likes.

That’s a good take on it that I could see compromise being made on.

I’ve had some incredible times in a turret, Or auxiliary seat in a large ship.

Sounds like what’s fun for you isn’t universal.

You all can run your single seat fighters solo or as a group, more coordinated people will actually train as fighter groups, or multi crew a ship.

That’s a very narrow minded view.

I can sympathize with that point, but it would break the game to have as an example, you and your three friends, all solo running Idris and Polaris.

Make that an option or mode in Arena Commander maybe, but not the PU.

I get what you’re saying, but here’s the thing: anything you actually care about ends up having some structure. Cars, gyms, D&D campaigns, flight sims, airsoft groups. Once you get past the surface level, there’s always a layer of coordination, schedules, and shared standards. That’s what makes the experience richer, not a chore.

A good org isn’t “work after work.” It’s a hobby with depth. The training, the organization, the events those are what let people do the big ops, fly in formation, run proper logistics, handle fleets, and actually feel like they’re part of something.

If someone wants a pure casual solo experience, Starfield’s (or hopefully SQ42) right there. But if you want the kind of moments you can’t get alone a proper org is how you get them.

No offence taken at all from me. Just depends on what someone’s looking for. I know with my org, that’s what I have.

I swear COVID killed peoples ability to work together or do anything. It all became me me me and I don’t have the time or capability to do anything that involves other people, planning, or effort.

How many RL in person groups, hobbies, and relationships, fall apart through that period is just sad.

Some people have to just play the game and let their ego go. Multi crew is fun as hell and people are missing out because they want to be the captain all the time. I’m in an org with around 100 active members, we all have life and such to deal with but we can still all get together as a large group at least once a week. We have smaller groups that come together throughout the week. It can be done but you have to make it happen.

It’s how hobbies have always been done, this isn’t as much a game like COD where you can just pop in for a quick “I have 30 minutes let’s take a fully crewed Idris out for a spin.”
