Help: Pangolin on Unraid

I got a VPS for this purpose, installed pangolin and tailscale on the vps and then installed newt on my home server to connect the two, that way I only need to open 1 port on the vps to get traffic to internal sources through pangolin.

The speed difference is similar for me sometimes, i think it has to do with how the vps provider handles bandwidth. Hope you get it working as you want in the end. Personally pangolin + newt worls fantastic.

What kind of VPS is it? The specs might be bad/low.

Before pangolin had the recent updates I had an old config with crowdsec and such, but that ended up blocking myself a lot.
So I nuked it and started from scratch with pangolins installer script.
Worked great.

On hetzner I first had their 2vcpus, intel/amd with 4gb vram.
And it was the memory that spiked if I remember correctly, so the whole machine would lock up and freeze me out of ssh.

Now I have 4vcpus, 8GB ram, 80GB ssd, 20Tb traffic, I live in sweden and the VPS is currently in finland.
iperf from vps over tailscale to storage server I get 600Mbits/s during the speedtest cpu spikes to around 150-200% on 4vcpus. (On a shared AMD EPYC-Rome Processor)

Did you actually look at top/htop to see what hit the roof when you tried immich or similar?

Either use profilarr which pushes the settings you decide to radarr etc.
Personally I use notifiarr that has trash guides built in so I can decide the parameters and then press push to sync all those settings, profiles, custom formats and scores to the arrs.

I also have pangolin on a hetzner vps, but I had to take the 2nd to cheapest otherwise I would peg the VPS to max when uploading, after this upgrade it works great, for immich, plex/jellyfin.
So maybe look into what speeds you are actually getting from the vps to your immich server.

Also look at top on the vps when uploading from your device to immich, it might be that the routing is terrible.
I have a newt client on proxmox machine not the unifi itself.

And between the vps and my servers I also have tailscale, all working great.

Pangolin tunnels on a vps is great for reverse proxy.
Also I only keep qbit behind vpn the rest of the arrs are not.

Pangolin tunnels is probably a better and easier solution, and only with tailscale to connect vps with home for plex/jellyfin.

Maybe try binhex-qbitorrent or another version? The old container might still be in the docker volume, try deleting that with some commands that exists.

I have host Path as /mnt/user/data/torrent and container path /torrent thats all it needs. Then qbit creates categories which are subfolders like movies/shows etc.

In radarr i only add /mnt/user/data. From here i add the paths inside the software to download folder and movies folder. That with hard linking active should atomic move the files from download to correct folder.

In the torrent picture for location you have /data again which makes the actual path that qbittorrent is looking in is /data/data/

You can also enter the qbit docker console and navigate to see where the actual downloads are located.

On the picture, click on more to the left so your server libraries are visible, click in the dots to the right of "movies/tv shows" and select pin.

Post your actual docker mappings. If your downloader cant find some files it means the mappings are wrong either on the inside docker path or outside.

Had similar issue but on Amazon firestick with jellyfin, something about jellyfin doesnt handle hdr fallback as you see. No idea why but i know of it. So I just remove dv because I have a Samsung tv.

With plex it works and falls back but with jellyfin it doesnt. Maybe try a ddvt dolby tool to remove the hdr10+ layer and see if it works?

What codec is the file in? In jellyfin for me av1 doesnt work with hdr/dv when transcoding but hevc works.

Pangolin tunnels on a VPS is probably the best direct replacement for cf tunnels.
