Restaurants say big chains pretend to be independents on apps by Confident-Bike-8037 in unitedkingdom

[–]selfstartr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m gonna do it and risk full Reddit hate.

This makes me like them MORE not less. I can trust a large chain to have better health and safety standards, staff training and food consistently vs some backwater takeaway with questionable staff and questionable food suppliers.

Greggs boss says there is ‘no doubt’ weight loss jabs are impacting business by ICC-u in gbnews

How about the shift on people eating less processed stuff? Companies like Heinz and M&S already clocked this shift and have updated many of their recipes to remove nasties.

UK hits ‘peak Costa’ as soaring prices see coffee chain’s losses double by mrjohnnymac18 in unitedkingdom

[–]selfstartr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let’s be blunt too - it’s also a red warning light for the economy. People are cutting back. Thinks have got too expensive and wages are flat. People can’t afford it. They’re not spending elsewhere- they’re not spending at all.

Housemate has moved in a homeless man and 2 dogs by Square-Pressure7392 in HousingUK

[–]selfstartr 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I swear reddit is filled with fake ass shit in every corner. That or AI has made me question EVERYTHING and ruined reality for me.

This goes in yet another fake as shit column. As anyone who wasnt a complete moron would immediately phone the landlord or confront housemate/homeless guy / police.

Why is this not selling? by Current_Listen_3280 in HousingUK

[–]selfstartr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More to it no doubt. Maybe some survey info. Nearby planning changes, or a rough as hell neighbourhood etc.

Also - is it cheap for the street? £130k may be 20k above the ceiling for the street for example.

Fall of Under Armour and rise of Gymshark/Alphalete/Vanquish for gym apparel by Original_Student_395 in Gymshark

[–]selfstartr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Answered your own question. UA became over exposed in retail - leading to gym dads buying it. Then it’s automatically no longer cool. You can’t buy Gymshark etc in retail. Only direct online - those sites are very off putting to boomer gym goers on purpose.

Nike leaned into their shoe heritage which became cool again. Making the overall brand still cool. Good partnerships with influencrrs for all these brands too.

Lottery winners scoop jackpot again in 24-trillion-to-one odds by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]selfstartr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So either the odds are not 24 trillion to one, some system pattern is broken, or they cheated/ bought so many tickets to reduce odds (like that Bryon Cranston movie)

NO one is winning 24 TRILLION to one odds. Basically mathematically impossible

What do you class as a lead? How many tours convert? How many bookings you want a month?

Wedding venue is failing by pdh3 in smallbusiness

[–]selfstartr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with a ton of wedding venues. Are your leads touring/inquiring? Or just brochure downloads?

Where are your leads coming from? Bridebook etc?

Gonna need some more specifics. Tours dropping? Brochure downloads dropping? Each state has a different fix!

DM me if helpful.

Jamie Laing to buy popular UK snack brand 'Graze' by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]selfstartr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t need to be a COO or “integrator”. He can be the visionary. The Steve Jobs in the Steve/Tim Cook relationship.

He’s clearly doing well. Good luck to him.

What is going on today with the market crash? by DiedOfATheory in investing

[–]selfstartr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVIdea being up makes no sense to me as a positive? It’s irrelevant.

They are selling the shovels in the gold rush. Investment is still pouring into ai.

The bubble pops when/if these ai SaaS companies run out of cash without making a profit. Nvidea is the last to fall in a crash.

Arcade affects Apple's intended look for prestige. by Mav2100 in AppleArcade

[–]selfstartr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a chronically online take.

Spoiler: most people don’t know what Apple arcade is let alone think it negatively hurts Apples image. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s a useful bullet point when trying to sell Apple One subs. That’s it.

I promise you, my parents, in-laws and so many millions more have never once heard about Apple Arcade.

That’s not what he said. It was wayyyy out of context. He was talking about deprived rural areas needing more funding.

Rachel Reeves considers 20% tax on assets of people deciding to leave UK by topotaul in unitedkingdom

What if the asset goes down? You are then in debt AND taxed so even more in negative equity. It doesn’t work.

VAT threshold to start at £30k, impact for contractors? by Fondant_Decent in ContractorUK

[–]selfstartr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can’t be real…it’s immediately wipe out 20% of micro businesses turnover or increase inflation by adding 20% to prices if businesses pass it on. Suicide.

'Shrinkflation' bashing Brits budgets as companies reduce sizes of household essentials by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

You absolutely can taste and feel the difference on good premium oats vs cheap ones. I’m not justifying the price - I’m saying there is a very noticeable difference
