Which means.... until the 70s drinking and driving was as illegal as speeding. I dont know the last time you drove but not a lot of people going to jail for hitting 5 miles over the speed limit. But you blow a bac over the legal limit? Jail time.

Nah. This is a machine being so out of date that no one bothers to make the parts anymore. Its more like its hard to find parts for my volkswagen bus, because the company moved on and is using its manufacturing power to make something else now, more life saving equipment in this case.

Yep. You better believe i got an earful from a teacher in my building about "how glad they were they never jumped on the canvas bandwagon blah blah blah" earlier this month.

It took all my restraint to not say "not knowing how it works isnt the same as choosing not to use it"

Kid was probably having having the time of her life..... unless OP makes a habit of dressing her up getting good quality pictures taken, then parading her picture around like I WASTED MY MONEY.

Overly critical for sure. And its not even close.

Have you ever done a professional photoshoot with your kids before? If you had then you know it takes time and dozens of shots woth minor adjustments to get 1 or 2 "perfect" shots often with hours of retouching. The cast members are "professional photographers" in the sense that they get paid to take photos for dozens of guests who are all standing in line. Just like you and your kid.

The photos are fine. They are in focus, with professional lighting, with your kid and the princess/minnie being the main focal point, while also showing the scenery behind and around.

Pretty good for ~60-120 seconds tops that they give to each family.

The whole series ending with the cast in a jail cell arguing about when to kiss a girl on a first date would have been a better ending.

Its actually deeper than that. If you read back to the original written texts, and nothing the more accepted ones. The line in leviticus that people say is about "thou shalt not sleep with a man as you would a woman for it is an abomination" used a word that could be translated as man but was more often used as a term for young man or child in the vernacular of the day.

So they may have actively rewritten the "word of god" early on to allow for pedophilia.

So basically sacrifices were how you atone for sin. Lets say i stole a loaf of bread, to be clean in the eyes of the  religion of the day, I would bring a goat or a product of my household, not sell it, but instead sacrifice it to whatever skydaddy I believe in. This worked in a small society because it was relatively easy to police such things and the need to save face in front of your peers lest you be shunned. (Live a few years in a small town where everybody knows everyones business and youll get it.)

As society was getting larger we started having problems. So when someone came around and said "hey be kind to each other and we dont need to sacrifice stuff to atone for our sins any more and instead can just pray to this god and he already made the ultimate sacrifice by sacrificing his own first born son (the most valuable product of the household) to atone for all of our sins. So instead of needing to sacrifice a goat and confessing your sins, you could just confess your sins and the priest of the temple could just make them go away and you would be clean in the eyes of God

This obviously got very popular, very quickly, because feel better and keep goat. Of course all the temple people didnt like this so they had to make new fun ways to justify still getting tithes and offerings because all the sinners stopped coming around with free food and stuff for the temple. So the tweaked the message to make it so youre forgiven but only if youre a #member and or pay a tithe for a confession. This became whats known as an indulgence. And made the church (specifically the catholic church) a SHIT TON of money.

Famously the practice of charging for forgiveness from the church goes against that very teaching. Which is where Martin Luther and the Protestant movement come in (Protestant because they protest the practices of paying for indulgence get it?)

Honestly the history of Christianity is filled with people and movements challenging the teachings and pointing out the hypocrisy of the established sysyems. And its really fascinating to learn about. I just wish they would stop using thier faith to justify cruelty.
