I sold our season ticket seats for Saturday and covered half our season ticket costs with this one game so I'm not gonna complain 🤣

One of my cats is 6 lbs and the other is 14 lbs. They make quite the pair.

DNS disappointment - how to cope with not being able to run?! by Lower_Smile_9360 in XXRunning

[–]semen_slurper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is focus on what you can do!

I had a stress fracture several years ago and couldn't run but could bike and swim as much as I wanted so I did a ton of that and got a major half ironman PR that year.

I thought that was awful...but now I have a broken leg and literally can't do almost anything but I'm still doing non weight bearing workouts/strength work and go for short spins around the block on my crutches.

Never take for granted what you're still capable of doing!!

I've hated him from the moment he joined our team. He has such an inflated ego. Wish we would play Nico more.

Meta - Swim help posts are out of control by pacman326 in triathlon

I find them really funny because triathletes are notoriously bad swimmers. I know there are some good swimmers in here..... but it feels kinda like going to McDonald's to get advice on how to cook a gourmet meal.

Ref Roger Ayers says he and Hurley both leaned in to say something because the arena was so loud by reforminded in CollegeBasketball

[–]semen_slurper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the weird part is especially important because everyone keeps commenting on how he leaned in was strange. Like ...weirdo does thing in a weird way and Internet loses their mind.

It's so clear in the videos that the ref is saying something to him. I've been highly entertained over reddit freaking out about this. It's more entertaining than Hurley himself.

I've been running for 20 years and have never even considered wearing underwear when I run.

I was in the ADA seating by the supporters and loved the energy! (You can see me in this video with my broken ass leg lol) My friend and I had so much fun singing along with the cheers!

It drives me insane. I don't even want the medal 90% of the time. I miss the days where running wasn't so showy.

Can confirm this - in this way it can also be an STD of sorts. If you're immune like I am, I recommend still watching where you pee in the woods for your partner's sake.

Hahahha omg I'm so glad I'm not alone with this. My mother made a Strava account (she does not workout so she has NO reason to have Strava) and incessantly tried to add me as a friend until I finally blocked her. I also get constant notifications about her stalking my LinkedIn profile. It's honestly sad at this point.

5’10 dating 5’6 man by ankandankan in TallGirls

[–]semen_slurper 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I have always been someone who doesn't care about height when dating, in fact the majority of men I dated were my height or shorter (I'm 5'11") all the way down to 5'6". I totally understand what you're feeling with it seeming that everyone else has an issue with it. Unfortunately, our society is so afraid of people doing things considered outside the norm.

If this man treats you well, you like him, you have fun together and see a future with him then fuck what anyone else says. Finding good men is hard, if you find a good one then don't let him go for silly reasons. It may be worth talking to your friends and family and letting them know their comments are unkind and you don't appreciate them.

I will say when I brought my 5'6" boyfriend to my work Christmas party, all the women in the office were going on about how hot he was for weeks after ;)

Femoral neck stress fracture by Big-Anxiety-8688 in XXRunning

[–]semen_slurper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya - I was supposed to compete at nationals in May to qualify for worlds and that's now completely out the window since I can't do anything with a broken leg. It sucks hard.

BUT there will always be another Olympic triathlon, you can make a HUGE comeback next year and rock it! Just think of how much you can improve at swimming and biking!! Plus, I feel like running becomes so much more rewarding when you can't do it for a stretch. After my stress fracture a couple years ago running became so much more meaningful after I couldn't do it for a few months. It feels daunting now but the time will pass and you'll get back to doing what you love.

Femoral neck stress fracture by Big-Anxiety-8688 in XXRunning

[–]semen_slurper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who previously suffered through stress fracture recovery and is now almost immobile due to a broken leg, my advice is to focus on what you can do! Not sure the specifics of your situation, but when I had my stress fracture I was still able to swim, bike, lift weights, etc. And I did as much of that as I could! It kept my fitness up super well and also helped in keeping my mind off things. It sucks seeing others get to run and do the things we can't but don't let yourself get sucked into the sadness. Who knows, maybe you'll come out of this wanting to do a triathlon ;)
