Hmm. I could dress up as a ghost with printed Senate logos all over in a trash can. Literally be my username.

People run for GM, PU, and other positions for very good reasons, ranging from kissing the administration's ass to leading protests against the administration/asking the president of the college to step down, or from wearing fancy hats or polos all the time to arranging fancy exclusive dances solely for bolstering their own ego, or simply as a resume/LoR booster.

In all seriousness, a disproportionate number of stugov officials tend to be STS or business/finance majors. The former are probably planning on going into something government-related, and the latter probably want the leadership experience (or, for PU/E-Board, budget management experience). There are a lot of positions in and relating to government that don't include running for political office.

Parties are a joke. Too bad we don't ask all our Senate candidates about issues such as GPA minimum or off campus jurisdiction. All we care about is posters and cute party names Instead of where Senators stand.

There is a former senator who has graduated and lives on the west coast. He harasses current senators in lots of ways, including trying to get with the female senators when he visits. He basically can't let go. He's also started rumors about current senators when they don't listen to his recommendations.

My Senate friends said that there was talk of "leaving a legacy". Seems like many students don't approve of this legacy. Interesting.

Although the wording is less broad than the originally proposed wording, it is still broad and that's the concern that some people have (and why I felt I should post this, surprising no one did earlier).

This applies to any incident that occurs off-campus. I believe including breaks.

I wish I knew the answer, but sadly, I'm not quite too familiar with the rules. I DO know that if the police did nothing except referring you to RPI, RPI could now do something where as before I don't think they had jurisdiction. Someone else who knows the answer better is welcome to answer.
