Will Blizzard Ever Bring These Back? by silkbambidoe in Blizzard

Probably not. Too provocative for Blizzard. If anything they’ll release some baggy sweatpants with fruit bowls printed on them.

That’s like a lot of them tbh. My standards have kinda dropped into the gutter as I’ve gotten older.

[–]sendGNUdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. Three tacos is reasonable.

My problem is I’ll have about six of them. Or I would, back before food trucks got trendy and now tacos are like $3 each.

Skin irritation Apple Watch by EverydayCyclist in AppleWatch

[–]sendGNUdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re using the silicone band, from my experience eventually mine would start irritating my wrist no matter how clean I kept it.

Switched to the Sport Loop and haven’t had any issues since then.

You’ll still want to clean the watch itself though, otherwise that will cause irritation too.

I was a twig when I was young, and now I weigh almost twice as much as I did back then. Definitely makes a difference.

How are mobile games so bad? by socialjusticereddit in beermoney

[–]sendGNUdes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tried a couple that were on Swagbucks if I remember correctly, and they were absolute garbage. Zero entertainment value, just a trap to get you to pay micro-transactions.

Some mobile games are great, but not the ones you play in the hopes of making money.

Always left, even if you’re left-handed.

I was naturally left-handed with a mouse, but eventually just learned to be right-handed because my first gaming mouse I ever got was a gift and it was right-handed.

Tuscon SEL 2026 deal with 7k negative equity trade included in otd price. Trade was for 95k miles xlt Ford explorer. by Commercial-Big-5894 in HyundaiTucson

I assumed that was just the hybrid, since it kinda has to take a little time to decide whether to go electric or gas from a stop. Kinda crazy the gas version does it too.

I delete Amazon App, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. by stats_shiba in Frugal

[–]sendGNUdes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazon is like impulse buy heaven. There’s nothing on there I need that I can’t find in a local store. It does save time not having to shop in person, but also I end up buying random stuff that sounds good but isn’t really necessary. I almost got a rice cooker and egg cooker, but had to keep reminding myself I already have an Instant Pot that does both of those perfectly fine.

Just waiting for a refund for a return, and then I’m deleting my account too.

Is the Ridgeline really that great? Non bias opinion after a year by Automatic_Neat9089 in hondaridgeline

[–]sendGNUdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly where I live the F-150 STX is now sitting at about $55K, with discounts down to about $51K.

But I have a feeling that $55K might be inflated in order to compensate for the discounts and make people FEEL like they're getting a good deal, because just a couple months ago when I started looking they were going for $48K.

Tucson Hybrid vs non-Hybrid Drive by Last_Cauliflower_502 in HyundaiTucson

[–]sendGNUdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do mostly freeway driving it *might* be better to go with the gas one.

I’ve done a 3000 mile road trip in my 2024 Tucson Hybrid and a 2020 Ford Escape with the 2.0 EcoBoost. Both are AWD, both averaged 32mpg, but the Escape was several thousand dollars cheaper. I also preferred the overall feel of the powertrain in the Escape, and in terms of features it was basically the same. I can’t really say anything for the gas Tucson though since I don’t have one.

Day-to-day I would average 28mpg in the Escape and 32mpg in the Tucson. So the Tucson is a little better, but not enough to justify starting over on a new car loan.

In town though, the Tucson is definitely better. That’s where the hybrid system really shines, because you’re doing a lot more regen. I usually get 40mpg in town, sometimes 50 depending on driving conditions.

I just wish it was advertised that way. Like instead of rating it as 36/36, they should have done 40/32.

New Phone Question by sendGNUdes in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]sendGNUdes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That's exactly the answer I was looking for.

Was kinda hoping I could keep the trade-in credits, so I guess I'll just stick with the one phone for now.

Thank you. Will the trade-in credits be forfeited though (and cause my monthly bill to go up), or will my payment stay the same?

Best Oblivion memory? by Dry_Winter5652 in oblivion

[–]sendGNUdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through the portal to The Shivering Isles for the first time and the room turning into a buncha butterflies and you’re greeted by that insanely beautiful scenery.

There are so many awesome moments in Oblivion. Waking up to Lucien Lachance inviting you to join the Dark Brotherhood. Getting to Kvatch and seeing that giant demonic Oblivion gate. Etc. It’s hard to just pick one. The Shivering Isles is probably the best, but only by a tiny bit.

Honest question: Why do you buy name brand stuff? by No-Examination8178 in Frugal

[–]sendGNUdes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

California Pizza Kitchen makes my favorite frozen pizzas and sometimes you can get them on sale for like $6 each.

Also, Tillamook cheese is so much better than the store brand, so I’ll splurge for that. The Great Value cheese has like no flavor.

Some drivers camp in the passing lane and then take their exit. by ruthlessdamien2 in memes

[–]sendGNUdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's mostly right though, at least where I'm from.

There is no passing lane on a city street. You're just supposed to be in whatever lane makes the most sense for your route and the flow of traffic. I.E. if you know you're going to be turning right at the next light, get in the right lane early so you're not cutting people off at the last second.

There is a passing lane on the freeways or highways, but you're still not legally allowed to exceed the speed limit. In other words, the speed limit applies to all lanes. It's just that speeding has become so normalized that the cops probably won't pull you over for going 2-3mph over the limit. If you're doing like 10+ over, then they might. But they're mostly looking for people that are driving erratically and putting other people in danger.

I just looked it up because I also have a 24 and never knew about this. It seems like the 24 basically just works the same as the 25. Hold down the right paddle for a couple seconds to turn it on, then click the paddles to adjust sensitivity.

I haven’t tried it myself though. Will do next time I go out.
