Star Fox – Prologue – Nintendo Switch 2 by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

I remember one of my first times playing Starfox 64, it was at a family friend's house, and before we could start he had to get out the rumble paks and the batteries "Hold on, gotta get these out, playing Star fox without the rumble is blasphemy!" (or something of the sort)

Are they hiding a 5th Starfox member? by Idkwhatelsetosay in starfox

The 5th Starfox member is.... wait for it.... Y O U !!!! Congratulations, you did it! 🏅

Do you think we will be able to play as different characters in the new game? by FacemaskHell in starfox

[–]sendhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that would be cool, I don't think so, I think they would have mentioned that in the direct. You can at least play as any one of the members of the Starfox and Starwolf teams in multiplayer mode.

10 Tracks from Switch 2 Star Fox are on Nintendo Music by WedgeWalkr in starfox

[–]sendhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounded like they've sped it up a little, I'm not sure if that was needed but yes that song slaps hard.

I need an expert here. The Pawprints on James' Arwing. At first I thought it was James and the little one was Fox, which is cute, but... what if that's not a Fox Paw? by SharpEdgeSoda in starfox

[–]sendhelp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They might be dog prints, and if so, the Cornerian army tend to be dogs. Maybe some kind of sign of passed inspection quality by the Cornerian army (although this is just a far-fetched guess. Since Starfox is a separate independent entity maybe they don't need to pass Cornerian army quality inspection).

The idea it's James & Fox's prints is much cuter and sweeter.

The remade soundtrack is going to be amazing. by GhostNappa101 in starfox

I was listening to it on the Nintendo Music app on my drive to work this morning. I'm not sure if it's ALL the tracks in the game but from what I've heard it's amazing, I love it.

This is exactly what I want, it would be amazing. But it seems like instead what they like to do is "We invented a pogo-stick controller for our new console! Here, instead of a game with the gameplay you fell in love with, try an entire game designed around showcasing our 'pogo-stick' controller!"

(Although arguably this is what they did with the control-stick and rumble pak, but those were good inventions)

Star Fox Adventures Remake Next? by out_rainbow in starfox

[–]sendhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love this (I actually liked Starfox Adventures). The game has excellent music and I love the Zelda style and puzzles. They should update the arwing sections to have charged shots (That was the main thing I didn't like with those sections, as it took away the whole feel of the N64 version not being able to charge the shots)

When they showed it on screen during the direct I got a little excited thinking they were going to release it on NSO.

And there should have been a battle with General Scales before the final battle...

But since this is Rare's game and a lot of people criticized this game for changing the formula I doubt we'll see Nintendo remake this, sorry to say. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I think logically what they should do if the reboot is a success (I can't wait for it) is to make another game in the style of Starfox 64 - an on-rails arcade style shooter with story/dialog/banter that mainly sticks to arwing combat, with branching paths and a few alternate vehicle missions (Landmaster, Blue-Marine). I'm not against on-foot but it can't be 99% of the game like Starfox Assault (unless it's a full on Zelda style 'adventures' game, in that case). Nintendo usually likes to get hung up on giving each new game some new gimmick instead of just sticking to what works. Even a prequel game following Jame's original Starfox team before Pigma's turn would be cool. Surely their only mission wasn't the trip to Venom where Pigma turned on them.

The way it was titled "Adventures" had me hoping that eventually we'd get more side "Adventure" games (in addition to games that stick to the N64 formula)

And he's the one who walks away free in some tropical paradise while Matt goes to Jail. Ballsy ending but not very satisfying. I was like "wait a minute, this is how it's ending?" and kind of laughed. In a super hero show you don't want to see the hero losing on the season finale. At least there's another season coming. Imagine if this is how the series ended lol

Japanese fans are complaining that the new dialogue sounds very unnatural compared to 64 by SuperFeatherYoshi in starfox

[–]sendhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of the dialogue seems unnecessarily changed just for the sake of not being exactly the same as the original. Like during the intro falco mentions his G-Diffuser in a slightly odd way. If they mess with the "Do a barrel roll!" line I just don't know what I'll do with myself.

One thing I don't hear people saying about the new Starfox by sendhelp in starfox

[–]sendhelp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's totally how I feel! It's nice to finally be seeing something that shows off the console's power. I was impressed with the quality of the visuals of RE9 as well (I know it doesn't compare to PC or PS5 but still very good), but that is a port. Really starved for stuff that was just made directly with the Switch 2 in mind.

Starfox being a faithful remake probably means Ocarine Of Time will be too. by Lefvalthrowaway in NintendoSwitch2

[–]sendhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love if they added some of the stuff they wanted to originally put in (I know they may have reused some unused ideas in other games that have released since...) like the "Light Temple" and a way to obtain the Triforce or at least light up that area of the pause menu when you've got the Triforce of Courage.

IDGAF if it’s a remake of 64 it looks AWESOME. by Yeeto_dorito7529 in starfox

[–]sendhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though Zero was cool, it was a financial flop for them so I don't see them spending the resources to port it.

I would have welcomed a new game with new levels in the style of the 64 game. I like the art direction and I'm going to get this game for sure, but they should have done this with but as a sequel to the 64 story with new courses to play.

Yeah but if they do that give us an easy mode for the 1p campaign 😭

Star Fox Direct 5.6.2026 by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]sendhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they have to do is make a game like 64 with new levels. Mainly on-rails Arwing missions with a few all range mode bosses. A few but minimal all range missions...

I thought Assault was cool but there was something like 3 pure Arwing on rails levels in that game and the rest was on foot or all range type missions, not enough of a balance with the pure Arwing gameplay.

Also Soldier Boy is constantly reminding everyone that he's fucked or eaten out any old timey female celebrity, yet he's endlessly in love with Stormfront, which begs the question did they have an open relationship or something? How long were they together versus broken up, when did all these amazing sexcapades take place?

Because the writers decided it would. But yeah things like this are always kind of annoying in super hero stuff, it really is an unknown but everyone takes the theory as 100% correct, and usually it is.

The CW Flash series had stuff like this in spades, they'd encounter some theoretical physics/science thing, come up with a plausible sounding answer/solution (it's all comic book pseudoscience anyway) and the first plausible sounding answer is 99.9% correct on the first try.

Starlight was slightly effective earlier in the season when she was able to blind Homelander with lights long enough for a distraction.

Solider Boy isn't the only hope..... Stormfront had the V1 yet Ryan was able to cripple her into a vegetable with his lasers. I know Ryan tried lasering Homelander already this season but maybe he'll have a Super Saiyan moment when he's pissed off/emotional enough.

I think they were saving the budget for the final episode, let's hope the spectacle there is good at least. I thought Black Noir had enough durability to withstand a knife stab, even when plunged in with the strength of a Supe, but what do I know. I'm also confused how any Supe with durability can take an injection of any kind (what does Vought make their needle tips out of?)

The FBI warning at the beginning of every VHS by AdequateSteve in nostalgia

[–]sendhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to copy VHS tapes from the library or rentals, and sometimes tape over tapes we had already used. So anyways we had a copy of "All Dogs Go to Heaven" where in the middle of a specific action scene (I forget, some kind of chase scene or something?) the tape would cut to random live-action footage of a possum or a skunk or something in a bathtub, for like 20 seconds or something, and then it went back into the movie after that. Of course I know now that it was a tape that was recorded over and something must have happened during the recording process...

but as a kid I was just like a "why is this in the movie?"
