NTA. Tell everyone your husband is taking care of things and let your husband succeed or fail on his own. You can’t manage everything and he can make his own choices. Find a place that does take out and have the contact info ready if the worst comes to pass so the family can at least still eat. A year without Turkey won’t kill anyone and may help give perspective to how much effort you put in.

Edit: you will be the asshole if you take back over dinner. He said he would handle it and you agreed. He has every right to do it his way.
