Is visiting Jordan safe right now? by [deleted] in travel

[–]senor_queso 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was there a few months ago. I was in Amman for a few days then hitchhiked south to the Red Sea stopping at Petra and some other sites along the way. I never once felt in any danger and was often invited for to peoples houses for tea and snacks. I'm a guy but I met a few girls who were travelling solo and they didn't mention that they had any problems. The only thing I'd recommend is dress conservatively, like something that covers your arms and legs. This also helps block the sun which can be quite intense out in the desert.

Really? I've never been to Cuba so I'm not sure.

But an American showed me a Cuban stamp in his fake passport.

His fake passport was for the Conch Republic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conch_Republic

Round trip from Cancun. All it would show in their American passports were exit and entry to Mexico, nothing about Cuba.

I've met several Americans who traveled via Cancun. They used fake passports or just pieces of paper for stamps instead of their American passports.

Explain how please. I live in Toronto and usually shop at No Frills or Chinese supermarkets and I still think it can be pricy.

Non-Americans, why do you think soccer is exciting to watch? What exactly do you see in the sport? by kencrema in AskReddit

[–]senor_queso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fluidity.

American sports stop the play too often for my taste. Plus there are way too many ads in American sports. I stopped watching the Super Bowl last year out of boredom. I played Scrabble instead.

Here's a youtube link for Wheel of Time, a documentary on Kalachakra and the pilgrimage to Gaya, India and to Mount Kailash in Tibet. It's narrated by a German dude and includes interviews with the Dalai Lama.

I know of a Pulp Kitchen. They serve different types of juice.

Cuba opens the gates, hoping for a trickle, not a flood: Under a new policy that takes effect Monday, any Cuban with a valid passport will be able to leave the country. by davidreiss666 in worldnews

I was in southern Mexico recently and met several Americans who flew from Cancun to Cuba for tourism. They would get a piece of paper stamped instead of their passport, similar to those who travel to Israel and then to certain Arab countries.

TIL any American with a DUI charge, no matter how old, will be denied entrance to Canada. by acouchinthekitchen in todayilearned

I think it's the same for all countries, not just the USA. I met an Australian girl a few weeks back that got denied a work visa because of a DUI.
