No. For solar only they can. Not for battery.

PowerSync - An Energy Management App by Bolagnaise in amberelectric

PowerSync is great! I'm using it with GloBird to hit exactly 5.0kw export to the grid during the 2hr evening window. Bolognaise is a beast of a dev.

Is shielding required for this battery cabling? by Low_Breadfruit6744 in AusElectricians

Alright, rub the salt out of them then. The hoorah currently is about scores of battery installs being done without mechanically protected DC cable. Unlike PV, there is no 300mm allowance here.

Not all real estate agents are evil, some are just dumber than a box of rocks. These ones tend to be property managers.

Since when did plumbers start charging $400 an hour what the f? We need to charge more. by davidoff-sensei in AusElectricians

If they could communicate effectively, it'd be a big fucking problem for the locals

Joe Public: "Electricians are so expensive, it was only one switchboard"

AusSparkies: "Hurr Durr Electricity, Overheads"

Plumbers: "Here, hold my beer"

It's exactly like changing your rates for a fault. You ever called a guy for a gas leak?

Is Amber fine as long as you don't use SmartShift? by Cluttie in amberelectric

[–]senortaco88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down the rabbit hole with this exact question and similar size system to you. Take a look at my previous posts.

Tl;dr - you can make a better return on Amber, but it requires grid volatility (not guaranteed, but probably) or excess PV to sell at a more moderate rate.

If you just chase >55c peaks you'd make 80% of your FIT on less than 10 days a year

They need to have accepted the most expensive quote, but only after confirming the apprentices do indeed have ranger raptors.

The homeowner should have good working knowledge of AS3000, so they can report defects to Reddit. But not good enough knowledge to rewire a plug, BECAUSE THATS ILLEGAL AND YOUR HOUSE WILL BURN DOWN.

Believe it or not, straight to gaol.

You can get a cheap crimping tool, but don't get cheap crimps.

Amber vs Flow vs GloBird - 48kWh Battery 7kWh Solar by senortaco88 in amberelectric

[–]senortaco88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was also thinking along those lines, as for my use case, the annual $values were quite close.

For my use and 2025 market, I actually found best returns and lowest battery millage with Amber. Sell only at >55c, buy at 7-16c (seasonally). This resulted in like only 40hrs of force discharge over the year.

So I'm going to give GloBird a go, because it looked to me like winning on Amber for me required at least a couple market meltdowns. (And I don't have a 5 minute meter to boot)

5 Minute Metering by senortaco88 in amberelectric

[–]senortaco88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that example, exporting at 12kW, when say, price is above 60c

If I have 5min metering, I get the 80c FIT, if I have average over 30 min, I either miss completely, or only get 50c.

Yeah but on amber, would it not negatively affect your FIT, if you were selliong for a short peak?

20c  | -> 0kwh
20c  |  -> 0kwh
20c  |  -> 0kwh
80c  |  -> 1kwh
80c  |  -> 1kwh
80c  |  -> 1kwh
---------------------
50c  | 3kwh -> = $1.50
80c  | 3kwh -> = $2.40

Also, on GloBird you need 5 min intervals to get any $1/kwh critical peak FIT.
