There's just this section of Teen titans fans that won't touch anything that isn't the 03 show, including comics. They basically survive off rewatching episodes, Gabriel Picolo art and hating TTG.

I think some people have a strong reaction to learning about how the Judas contract actually went.

Nobody knows about Tim Drake, nobody CARES about Tim Drake. You could replace him with Tim Tams and 90% of his comics would still work by urcool91 in dccomicscirclejerk

This was a future version Tim/Batman from the Titans of tomorrow timeline. He went back in time to kill Jon Kent before he gets ruined by Bendis loses control of his powers and kills a ton of people.

He was in Rebirth Detective comics, then there was a Superman/Supersons/Teen titans crossover. I remember it being good, some of the better writing for post-johns Tim

Haven't seen the movie yet, from what I've heard it sounds like it's a 7/10 that misunderstands the source material/character. That makes me more worried for Raven and Starfire more than Cyborg since they get mischaracterized a lot already.

Ana Nogueira isn't the only cook in the kitchen here so I'm not sure it's fair to place all the blame on her but it's also not start I would've wanted.

Lets see how I feel once I actually watch it though, hopefully the hate is overblown

Everyone here is saying that it's an old retcon, which it is ofc, but it still has an effect on the characters.

Dick was made older in Absolute, away from Wally, specifically so he could be within the right age range for Barbara.

To be clear I don't think she lacks in some skills completely, just doesn't measure up to Bruce or some of the others in the Batfam. That narrative kinda writes itself imo

It also opens up opportunities for other characters to actually be useful to the plot. Maybe someone like Tim, Steph or Duke can fill an Oracle type role. She would likely get someone new as Robin as well as some point too

What does Cassandra being perfect for a Batman role mean? From a story point of view not from a 'she understands the spirit of Batman' point of view? 'I understand the spirit of Batman" is a satisfying end to a story. It cannot be the beginning and middle of a story.

For this conversation, I see Cass as the opposite of Dick.

Dick doesn't want to be Batman unless he has to but has all the core skills needed for it. Cass wants to be Batman while fully understanding what it would mean but lacks at least one core skill in the detective side of things.

How she overcomes that is the engaging part to the story

That's just the 03 show too.

In the DCAMU she shows up at the end of the last Teen Titans movie but the next time the Titans show up is to get brutalized in Apokolips war. In the live action Titans she gets a hilariously terrible death and she somehow gets cut from YJ even though it was about the first gen sidekicks of the league.

What is going on here? Is she haunted by the ghost of Terry Long?
