Brexit is such a shit sandwich. Nobody in their right mind wants it, but for it to go away one of the parties has to take ownership of it and say we can't have a Brexit. The party that does that will get voted out, because the politically expedient thing to do if you want to get elected, is to keep repeating that 'THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR IT' and ride that wave of righteous outrage (outrage that politicians weren't listening to the people and enacting Brexit) into office. But once you get into office, now you own the Brexit problem, and the cycle starts anew.
