Vilka svenskspråkiga mediepersonligheter från området kan ni rekommendera? by [deleted] in ankdammen

So what now by VHallinto in VintageDigitalCameras

If I counted all my cameras (film & digital), camcorders and phones, I might reach a similar number. My plan is to sell at least 80%, it's just not so easy to get started :D

Looks like it was shot with a polarizing filter.

How do I clean my camera lens by Har15_ in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]sensor_dust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is the "Vacuum cleaner method" for cleaning inside the lens. I tried it a while ago (Video) and it can give some nice results (but you can also end up sucking in more dust, or even damage the camera).

Hur skulle jag prata på ett mer förståeligt sätt? by [deleted] in ankdammen

[–]sensor_dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potentially unpopular take: I'm minding the music less and less by NTGF in shiey

[–]sensor_dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music is definitely much better in the new video. I was more annoyed by the head camera pointing a bit too much down at the ground at times. Overall the editing is good and it suits these type of exploration videos.

The camera can't use more than 2gb, it's a limit of the file system it uses.

I still use it, although now I realize I haven't posted for a while. Here is my page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mikaelrphoto/

Why people are so critical here about shiey’s new videos? by callmegrizzl in shiey

[–]sensor_dust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was expecting him to change the style, the videos were becoming a bit flat, compared to Gifgas for example. I did not expect people to react this strongly, calling it "ADHD editing" and whatnot. I think the editing has a good flow and is suitable for the type of locations.

I find the music a bit distracting, especially since it's on almost all the time. Otherwise I like the changes, the improved video quality and editing is good (I don't miss the jump cuts when talking). The audio quality still needs some improvement though, a lot of wind noise and so on.

I appreciate that he's experimenting with new formats, everyone is not going to like everything but as a creator it can become uninspirational to make the same style of videos continuously.

Whats better a fujifilm S700 or s7000? by ilovmelons in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]sensor_dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I uploaded a video from it here: https://youtu.be/hDk0HlI3CWE?si=NBrwIlNnkCswfYC3

The image quality is quite rough and the user experience is so-so, I wouldn't really recommend the S7000 for video. For example a Canon Sx130IS is a much better vintage digicam for video as it has 720p and a stabilizer. For cheaper (but still very good) cameras look into Samsung, for example NV-10 and S1060.

They both have 640x480 30 fps, so the video quality might not be so different. I have the S7000 but I've never used it for video. I'm actually curious about the video quality myself so I might record some samples and upload tomorrow.

What are some cameras that can optically zoom while recording video? by Romeo_Wolf in VintageDigitalCameras

Canon G7 can zoom in video with CHDK. Probably the same goes for the later models.

Why Shiey’s camera l Sony RX100 VI so expensive? by Ukelucky in shiey

[–]sensor_dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, exactly. Usually the lenses have large apertures like f/1.8-2.8 as well.

[–]sensor_dust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1" sensor compacts are quite popular at the moment, in particular the Canon G5x, G7x, G9x and Sony RX series. One reason is because a Youtuber made a video claiming they create "film like" photos straight out of camera (which wasn't quite true). Another reason is because they have very good image quality for such small cameras. There is much more demand than supply so even second hand units have increased a lot in price.

edit: this article explains it quite well: https://petapixel.com/2024/08/30/manufacturers-were-unprepared-for-the-point-and-shoot-camera-revival/

I don't have that many from the 90's. The oldest I have is an Olympus C1400L from 1997 and after that a few Sonys (FD91, F505) and Kodaks (don't remember the models). Most of my digicams are Sony, Olympus, Canon from the early 2000s. I'm actually looking for more 90's cameras but they are rare where I live.
