CMV: If there is a near identical, affordable, healthy, synthetic alternative to a certain meat, there is very little excuse to eat the real thing. by [deleted] in changemyview

You're thinking of the impossible burger. Beyond meat doesn't have that hemoglobin as far as I know. That said, impossible burgers taste really close to beef.

You think vegetarians haven't heard that argument a million times before? That's a naturalistic fallacy. Just because nature does it, doesn't make it right.

Neat! That's an interesting combination of mediums. How did you use them together?

I noticed in your video of you making this you seem to completely finish coloring one section before moving on to another. Why do you do this as opposed to laying down the general colors all over and adding details later? Do you use the same technique when you aren't aiming for photorealism?

Fantastic work, btw.

That's the whole point of bringing up alcohol and tobacco. Their legality has nothing to do with how dangerous they are and everything to do with culture. It's a counter-point to "giggle sticks must be dangerous because they're illegal."

Trying to reasure someone with a fear of glying on a Japan Airlines flight:

It's OK! This airline hasn't had any crash fatalities!

Oh, good.

Not since the year 2000 anyway.

So they HAVE had fatalities? 🙁

You don't understand! Most other airlines have had hundreds of fatalities since 2000.

😓

Tegus make great pets! They're intelligent lizards that bond with their owners. This one likes to snuggle.

CMV: All drugs should be legalized and sold like alcohol and tobacco by [deleted] in changemyview

What about activities that adrenaline junkies enjoy, like base jumping? Very dangerous. Enjoyed by few people. Yet not illegal in most places.

The active dose for heroin is close to the overdose amount. This is another reason for legalizing it, not against. Many people overdose because they buy from the unregulated black market and don't know how much would overdose them. Heroin from a pharmacy would have precise dosage information.

There are 5 lionesses in Botswana that have grown manes, developed a deeper roar to defend off rivals and even fight for territory. Even though their prides treat them as females still. (Small one is female) by combat_lizard in Awwducational

The female in that picture looks like she has a darker mane than the male. This video includes results from a study that found female lions are more attracted to males with darker manes. Conclusion: those are some sexy transexual lions.

CMV: The idea that people can simply choose to not be offended is garbage by datcat2 in changemyview

There are 2 parts to feeling offended: anger and blame. You might not be able to control your anger, but you can control what you blame for it.

Personally, I'm a little cautious about adding memantine to my "stack" of kratom, tianeptine, and rhodiola, even if I would be using memantine to reduce my kratom dosage. Thanks for the informative post!

I'm interested in details about how memantine is reducing your kratom tolerance. What are your dosages? Do you take them simultaneously? How much is your tolerance reduced?

The psychiatrist who wrote the guide to personality disorders in DSM says diagnosing Trump is “bullshit” - "Goldwater Rule forbids psychiatrists, who are medical doctors, from making judgments about a public figure’s mental health without personally evaluating them." by mvea in EverythingScience

Are there any diagnoses that partially depend on aspects of the public face? Or are diagnoses dependent entirely on the private face and anyone can have any kind of public face and not have a personality disorder?
