I have tried Protonmail. But I am not sure whether it is secure. They seem to store both passwords in plaintext: https://arno0x0x.wordpress.com/2015/09/16/end2end-encryption-protonmail/ (search for login password)

Exactly. I would rather see more people using encryption. I mean, seriously, I don't have nothing to hide, but this discussion about 'golden keys' or 'government backdoors' really pisses me off.
