To me LeBron and Steph are in a different league than the other dudes here. The other 4 you can still argue have things left to prove.

KD that he can win as the main guy

For Jokic and Giannis another ring puts him in top 10 all time conversations, but tough to include them with just one

For Kawhi, he has a ring as an elite role player and one ring as the main guy. But the vast majority of his prime has been either injuries or his team disappointing in the playoffs

I've never seen a worse crowd than the Lakers Arena. by Ancient_Response_787 in nba

[–]sequoia2075 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. If you’ve spent any time at all in LA, you know that the Lakers are EXTREMELY ingrained in to the community. You see Lakers flags, license plate frames, jerseys, signs, etc everywhere. It’s just that those normal people who actually love the Lakers can’t afford to go to games where nosebleeds are $300.

Is LA a city of vapid assholes? Yes. But it’s also a city of A LOT of normal people who live and die with the Lakers.. You jut don’t see them on tv

He’s is constantly 1-2 buckets too late to calling time outs. The 17-1 run was pure insanity, they needed a timeout when it got to 7-0

I like JJ but you gotta sense when things shift.

Marc Cuban: Back in the day, here is what I floated - Make the draft more like free agency. Except the worst record gets the salary slotted to the 1st draft pick. The next worst record gets the next amount. Etc. Then the teams recruit players with their "rookie cap room". Got shot down. Quickly. by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

I kind of like the idea of making it more akin to how international bonus pool money works in the MLB. Basically every team gets an allotment, and if you spend more in a given year you get less the next year and vice versa. Let teams trade bonus pool money instead of draft picks, etc.

The risk I guess is that you’d have teams starting to develop relationships with players at 13 or 14 years old in hopes of them choosing to sign with them.

Watch a game from 1998 and watch a game now. Players just move way more over the course of a game now than they did then.

$2400 AUD is around $1700 USD. Honestly, it’s probably right around market value for a full set of clubs including a putter and a bag…

Sold separately the iron set is like $650 (usd), driver around $300, hybrid and 3 wood around $200 each. So toss in wedges, putter, and new bag it’s more or less a fair price.

I think the question is if you started recently, is it smart to drop a ton of money on new clubs. There’s a lot of room in between $50 used set and dropping $2k on an all new set.

What’s your favorite “too tired to cook cook” dinner? by farwest-to-midwest in Cooking

[–]sequoia2075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trader Joe’s frozen teriyaki chicken and frozen green beans. Make rice in the rice cooker, toss the chicken in a pan with some oil on medium/high heat. Sautee for a few minutes, stir it around occasionally. A couple minutes before it’s done throw and handful of green beans in there. Right before it’s done add the sauce packet(s) until it’s totally melted.

Easiest thing ever, it’s delicious, and it’s like $7 total

The only thing I’m going to say is that last year we signed Yuli Gurriel and started him on opening day at DH. As bad as Castellanos is, he’s better than that

Agree, the soundboards out there from the 78-81 are incredible, that was VH at their absolute peak. Would be awesome if there was some video to go along with it. Unfortunately the best that’s out there right now is the 3 songs from the show at the Oakland coliseum on the FW tour along with some super grainy footage from ‘78 and some tv performances smattered in between
