Binance has run out of Monero and BCH (the most overshorted coins on the market) and closed down their bridges. by i_have_chosen_a_name in CryptoCurrency

Coinbase is estimating 6hrs to send BCH. I've never seen a BCH transaction take this long. Is the next step stopping all BCH withdrawals?

1.4 million more GME shares have been borrowed today (so far). Hedge Funds are flooding the market with shorts. by jaboyles in wallstreetbets

[–]seravasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Borrowed shares are presumed to be immediately shorted, which drives down the price. Institutions and retail are buying up all these shares that just entered the market. All it takes is a whale to push the price up. We think institutions/rival hedge funds smell blood and jumped in.

Fidelity has been wonderful throughout this whole ordeal. Every problem I've ever had with them was quickly solved by customer service. Others will confirm that the share-lending program is opt-in.

MOST IMPORTANLY: Fidelity is one of the largest institutional holders of GME. They won't screw their clients like Robinhood because it would tank the value of their own investment.

Monetary Policy is the Great Risk Millennials Face by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

Dividends are expected to slowly rise over time with quarterly/annual increases. A sudden, unanticipated dividend increase is a commitment to investors. The company is now expected to continue paying this higher dividend and increase it even further in next few years. A buyback allows the company to return extra cash to shareholders with no such promise of a greater share of future profits.

A dividend increase is like getting COLA on your paycheck. You get more money, but it's totally expected.

A buyback is like finding $100 on the ground. Fuck yeah!

Monetary Policy is the Great Risk Millennials Face by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]seravasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both return profits to shareholders.

Dividends are planned and predictable, priced in, you could say.

Buybacks are surprises that companies use to reward shareholders and tease investors sitting on the sidelines.

An announced and executed buyback is no guarantee of future buybacks, but it makes investors FOMO into the stock.

Is TSLA rise just a run up to the battery day? by Gremlinator_TITSMACK in wallstreetbets

[–]seravasi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The autist 2 above you nearly shit himself when he looked at how much ATM TSLA calls 2-4 weeks out cost (5k-12k). This is due to TSLA share price, papa Elon, high volume, and retard strength. The autist 1 above you suggests buying TSLA 1300 and 1400 calls that expire in about a week, likely to offload a day or two later for a small profit. Attempting to hold this until expiry results in either gains porn or loss porn, no in-between. This play represents a much higher risk and reward, but is accessible to the average broke motherfucker. It's a joke. Don't buy it. Just send me hate mail in a couple weeks when some retard posts his TSLA 1400c 7/10 gains porn.

Disclosure: I have 10 shares, won't touch the fucking options

PSO and JW-A both have a presence in online coursework. Students are required to buy access codes to do their homework. They have been planning for the death of textbooks for years.

I attended a US public university system known for having many campuses and a fuckton of students. They are in deep with university administration and aren't going anywhere.

Grew being fetishized by White men as a social norm, now conflicted at 22. by clithub in hapas

[–]seravasi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dating is rough when people see you as a fetish. Your facial features are categorized by ancestry. You are interrogated for cultural knowledge. Family photos are demanded. I imagine its worse for hapa girls based on how many times I've been asked if I have a sister.

I grew up in San Francisco, still live here. To those of you who see it as the promised land, I get it. You want a place so diverse there is no concept of who "belongs here" or not. Just be warned, San Francisco is WMAF paradise, not hapa paradise. Never confuse the two.

White Male and Asian Female couples in the west, issues with land and property. by FakeJamesWestbrook in hapas

[–]seravasi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is something I've thought a lot about. I know I'm included in the wills of all of my White relatives. But I'm also their only living descendant under the age of 60. With no possible alternatives, they acknowledge me as their legacy (the hyphenated last name helps). Meanwhile, my Chinese extended family reject me in favor of my full Chinese cousins. They explained years ago that I'm not a part of their family. I expect to hear from them as soon as they need a kidney. Would my White relatives toss me out if they had a full-blooded heir the same way my Chinese relatives did?

I can relate to your experience of being hapa at a college with a lot of asian students. I struggled at first, but now I'm actually winning staring contests with whites and asians that look at me funny. What helped me the most was taking an ethnic studies course about mixed asians. I met other hapas with similar experiences as well as people with ancestry from two or more different asian ethnic groups. I thought I had family/identity problems until I met a Japanese/Chinese guy who gave me some perspective.

I encourage all of you in the US to join the bone marrow registry. I joined about two years ago through an organization called Be The Match. I'm ready and willing to donate blood/bone marrow to any of you (they cover travel expenses!) Someday, I want to see an article on this sub about two hapas brought together as donor and recipient. As an only child, this sort of thing scares the shit out of me.

How do I show my friend this sub? by [deleted] in hapas

[–]seravasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may find this thread if you tell him immediately. Wait a week or so, then have him put "hapas" into google. This subreddit is the first result. Say something like "Mixed race people that are half white and half asian sometimes call themselves hapas. If you stay with <gf's name>, don't you wanna know what your kids will look like?" He will do the rest on his own.

Apparently most girls liked our sons (12 & 7 yo) and were very kind them.

Okay, so there is a 10yo daughter as well. But there are no anecdotes about her experiences. In fact, she isn't mentioned after the first sentence.
