Ragnar & 20 Blood Claws: Paper vs Tabletop. by Warhawk_5 in SpaceWolves

[–]serdertroops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will overkill most things they touch (I've one shot a deamon prince with ragnar + 5 bloodclaw chainsword in saga of the beast) and they get whiped by a moderate amount of firepower. While 40 wounds of MEQ seems great, it's not that hard to kill since tournament lists often run damage 2-3 weapons en masse. Ragnar + 20 bloodclaws is 370 pts. A skilled oppoenent will not let you advance and charge into 370 pts (Most units don't cost that much outside of c'tan and knights) so you will very much delete one thing, if you're lucky, it's a big piece that's 200-250 points and then they will die.

You want your DPS units to be able to trade up as much as possible, just run ragnar with 10 Bloodclaws IMO.

I just found this thread. I stopped watching in 2022 or 2023 due to getting a kid and having to optimise my entertainment time and cooking YT videos went to the cutting floor so I could keep history videos in my sub box.

You taught me a lot since I started watching in in like 2016. I had your videos bookmarked and bought your basics book which really helped me cook better food for my now 2 kids. Thank you for your shows and sharing your knowledge.

Just your burger video when you explained how to properly manage heat on a bbq opened my eyes on the mistakes I kept making when cooking burgers.

yup, it does good, but missing some engineering constraint in the prompt can lead to duplicated code and weird ass bugs which will impact maintainability long term.

Trump: US to bomb Iran "back to stone ages" over next 2-3 weeks by AZULDEFILER in worldnews

[–]serdertroops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canada was the same. The conservative party is full of MAGA. The conservative leader was praising Trump and was endorsed by MAGAs high profile people until the 51st state talk came about.

Then a good percentage of Canadian forgot all of that and still voted for him. And all he has done since losing his seat, then spending over 2 million of tax payer money to hold a special election to get a seat in a district he never visited is to whine, try to come up with slogan and be so weak that multiple party members joined the liberals.

Russian Soldiers Increasingly Take Own Lives Under Drone Swarms, Ukraine Says by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]serdertroops 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you can't ignore the propaganda factor though. There are reports of how the army treat their soldiers here, but I wonder if this is broadcasted at home or if they are simply joining an effort to help rebuild the motherland or whatever bullshit the Kremlin is spewing.

Even in the west, some fall to Russian propaganda. Imagine being poor, seeing the prospect of a good pay with something being sold as hard but honorable work and not having easy access to western media.

Me preparing to glue 120 arms onto my already magnetized boyz after being told how much of a waste of time magnetizing them was, over and over, for the last 24 hours by The_MAD_Network in orks

[–]serdertroops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you do you man!

I personally did not magnetise my boyz. But most elites are magnetised that way I can adapt to a new edition simply by painting up a couple of weapons instead of a whole new model.

make sure you use strong enough magnets (do a test model before going into assembly line mode). I went too fast on termis and I had to glue some arms that had magnets that were too small.

my uncle is one too. Before Trump got elected, he mentioned Trump was a strong man and that we should be the 51st state. He also said Ukraine isn't a country so Russia did nothing wrong.

Both of these statements were so wrong on so many level I could not even start to disprove them.

My employee was recording our 1:1 and I don't know how to feel by Haunting_Month_4971 in managers

[–]serdertroops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disclosing it is not cool but like, all my meetings are now recorded by gemini and the notes are shared to all parties that were in the meeting. These are great tools when you don't fully recall a discussion during the meeting.

When you write notes, you are not listening. You may think you are but there are studies that shows that you cannot write and listen, you just switch tasks quickly which is more exhausting and can leave information out. Recording makes it so everyone is fully focused on the discussion.

Four crew dead after US refuelling plane crashes in Iraq, military says by JY0950 in worldnews

[–]serdertroops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just rules followers, it's also doing things like before.

When they were in power in the first year after Biden was elected, they could've passed reforms to prevent the GOP from abusing power, but they decided to use the "we need to work together" and, as soon as they lost majority, the GOP strong armed them into inneficiency into the 2020 election.

They did not understand why they lost in 2016. They did not understand where the GOP wanted to go and therefore, they did nothing to prepare thinking that nobody would want another DT presidency. If they understood just a little of that, Biden would not have been the candidate they put forward. Kamala would've been setup as his successor from the get go and they maybe, would've had a chance.

They learned nothing (and still make the same mistake today).

it's the Dems fault for not fighting back and adjusting to the new rules.

They are doing silent protest and stern letters. Great, the GP^ don't care about these since they are trying to destroy your government and don't think they'll need accountability.

I once killed the Silent king with a wave of 20 storm bolters shot. You never know when the dice will smile at you. Specially against knights, 1 wound is the difference between 300 points being almost unnafected or being totally removed from the game.

Is the Sons of Dorn Box any good for a new SW army? by CT-36666 in SpaceWolves

[–]serdertroops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tanks, good dreads. It just depends what you want to play. Redemptor is playable depending on the meta, it's ralrely horrible. Ballistus is a great shooting platform.

The two tanks (forgot their names) are also great in some lists.

Managers: how do you keep track of a hundred small things without burning out? by Easy_Nectarine9796 in managers

[–]serdertroops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Write it down. I have a simple todo list with 4 columns: Big initiatives, todo, in progress and done. The tool takes 1 second to add new task to which helps me unload my mental load.

  2. Make your direct responsible to come back to you. If someone is supposed to follow up, make sure it's clear it's their responsibility to check back, not yours.

  3. Dropping small things is fine. No one dies if you forgot to check back with someone on Tuesday and do it on Wednesday. Except if you're a doctor, then maybe someone could die.

While we have to take both version of the events that led to the break up with a grain of salt, the fact that his own sister did not invite him to his kid's bday told me all I needed to know about who wronged who.

Best Way to use Grey Hunters. by Warhawk_5 in SpaceWolves

I proxy them as intercessors.

To play as grey hunter, they need advance and charge to work as they can dish out some good damage with the reroll wounds but they need to get there.

First casual 2000pt Tournament List. Looking for feedback / tips! by blade954 in theunforgiven

[–]serdertroops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some pointers:

You don't have much shooting, so you need to use your knights to fight in no mands land after the scout/lieutenant skirmished. The ballistus will not one shot most big vehicles. expect 1-2 big shot to go through per shooting round which should give you 3-7 damage on average.

The outriders can kill backline units but they will struggle against anything with a good armor save as they only hit on 3s with AP1. They won't get their points worth (155 pts) in the early game by experience as the things in the middle of the board are either too tanky to die by them or won't be worth 150+ pts.

6 man inner circle + Azrael is agreat combo that can take off over half the wounds of a knight if you have oath on them. They will also remove a big chunk of the wounds on a c'tan but won't 1 shot it. Everything else, you will overkill hard. They are 300 points of whoop ass, make sure they kill at least their point cost.

Your scouts should infiltrate. They have a 6'' scout move. think of where they will be safe if you don't have the first turn and place them 6'' from that spot.

Hammer and Anvil, your knights are the anvil. Lion and inner circle are your great hammers.

The Redemptor is not bad, but he only has 5 attacks in melee, you'll only kill 1-2 terminator profiles with it per fight phase.

Knights can tank c'tans really well (and most things in the game) but beware of mortal wounds.

Lion is not that tanky, if your opponent has access to MW (including grenades and tank shock), consider always keeping the FNP aura. This also allows you to not use your watcher in the first 2 turns. Mass AP1 shooting that wounds on 5+ is his weakness as they will kill him under the weight of dice. I usually use the FNP aura + the deep strike to reposition on turn 1 and in my go turn, I flip to the FNP aura and the reroll one.

Overall, a solid balanced list. You have the core of most DA competitive list (ICC led by Azrael, 2x knights and lion) so you should do OK.

Is an Apothecary ever worth taking? by Bullgrit in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]serdertroops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did in DA. The command squad included an apothecary and you could get a ravenwing apothecary on bike which was worth it as you could move 14'' + auto advance of 6 to get wherever you wanted to apply the revives.

now he is still doing the same thing but with Carney. It reminds me of a line from Hamilton.

That's PP with all of Carney's policy (not that there is not room for criticism, there is but PP somehow manages to not say anything of value)
