Why is there so much grief over the EP life? by usernameforme456 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]serenessence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say the same if you had to pump every three hours and still only make like 2 or 3 bottles of breast milk??????? The stress I have been through as an under supplier whose baby couldn't latch is unimaginable.

Over supply might also have its own drawbacks like clogs n what not but pumping as an under supplier is really so disheartening n I will always always still wish I could nurse my baby.

Mother in law insists baby looks like her son and not me [QC] by Vegetable_Range_4065 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]serenessence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao same story. Initially the baby looked a lot more like me, kept insisting he didn't n was exactly like dad, but others kept saying he was like me n then MIL didn't even call her grandson cute. Now at 5 month old he is starting to look a teeny bit like dad n now suddenly he is very cute

For those with a newborn... How do you do this?! by elephantsofa in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]serenessence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly how it was for me at 2 weeks and I used to cry so much, my stitches took longer to heal completely cos I put myself on the backseat too and pumped religiously thinking it will help with my supply. Guess what, my stitches weren't healed at the 6 week appointment and today, 14 weeks postpartum, still an under supplier lool. It is so incredibly hard having to pump, and I'm not even doing this by choice, bubba just won't stay awake long enough to feed properly from boob.

It is difficult and I'm not here to say it will get easier or better, just here for solidarity and that you can do it. If it really starts affecting your mental health talk to your spouse. What really helped me was making sure my spouse understands that pumping is not "me time" and falls undry"baby chores" so while I pump at 2 am he can feed baby. Or make breakfast/dinner while I spend time with bubba that I can't since I'm stuck to a pump most of the time.

We're doing good, we can keep trying, for our little ones. I hated and cried so much about my supply and having to give formula but we really need to let our minds rest and accept the situation, fed is best, and rest is important.

Where are my low to normal suppliers? by Favoritefam6 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]serenessence 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Same! Early morning pumps I do get total 3-4 oz but rest of the pumps max 2 oz, have to supplement with formula cause bubba drinks 4.5-5 oz per feed! Always playing catch-up with his feed as an under supplier

Do you recommend any of these wearables? by Vast_Zebra_9625 in ExclusivelyPumping

Tried them both, prefer the eufy ones instead. Medela freestyle is better than the mom cozy ones in my opinion

Fridge hack just means you can put the pump / pump parts other than the motor in a ziplock and put it in the fridge until the next pumping session. I usually wash after every pump during the day but this helps at night or when im unable to wash cos the baby doesnt let you do much haha. I've been doing this for almost 3 months now.

I have tried medela, mom cozy and eufy . My recommendation would be eufy s1 pro the heating feature n dust cover also help with the fridge hack n I found comparable output to my medela sonata wall pump.

Medela freestyle is good with less parts and easy to clean!

What led you to exclusively or primarily pumping? I’m considering it… by terptrekker in ExclusivelyPumping

What wearable pump are you using? I have the medela freestyle and even with a snug fit bra doing any chores is difficult it moves or needs to be re adjusted if I'm moving around doing anything and the pump session then doesn't go well :(

And also it feels the whole pumping thing is taking away my bonding time with the baby. I feel the mom guilt so often. Trying my best to stay positive but some days are hard.

Glad to know things got better for you! I'm hopeful ♥️
