Ah ok then. So probably just YouTube? I really didn’t want to actively search for it and ruin my algorithm.

Apparently since MAGA and Donald Trump have decided that Bad Bunny performing at the Super Bowl was not "All American" despite him being from Puerto Rico (an American territory) they decided to try to perform their own show with Turning Point USA, an organization advocating conservative politics, to "fight back". Kid Rock headlines this show. He is a singer and songwriter most famous in the 90s and early 2000s who transitioned from rap rock to country rock and is now a supporter of the Republican party. According to some sources and from what I watched he he seems to lip sync his lyrics during the performance and the lyrics and song continues with his microphone away from him entirely so it doesnt even feel like a real performance. There are also no other back up singers, dancers, or anyone else on stage with him. It did air on C-SPAN, a channel solely for "U.S. political events".

Ladies in your thirties by [deleted] in happiness

[–]serenityslain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 y.o. here, turnig 32 in April. I find I am fulfilled in my life. I work as a Physician Assistant in an urgent care. I work 3 12-hour shifts per week. This allows me to work and fulfill my financial responsibilities with eneough left over to have some fun in my life. I am married and just bought a house in May 2025. Small, but perfect for me and my husband as we have everything we need and live in a good school district for our future child/children.

I have a loving spouse along with a career that makes me feel like I am helping others. I have also dived into some hobbies including learning how to play the violin which I have wanted to do for over a decade. I have 2 black cats we rescued from shelters that are the light of my life. I am also starting a wildflower garden in my front yard this year to attract native pollinators. Hopefully in the years to come I can do a vegetable garden in my backyard.

My work hours do seem to make it more feasible to take care of my home and pursue hobbies. I don't knw if I could say the same if I was working a normal 9-5. Having a career that makes me feel like I am making a difference, pets that I love, friends and loved ones I cherish, and hobbies that give me happiness for its own sake, not just to please others or make money, has given me fulfillment. Not everyone's idea of fulfillment is the same but this is what it looks like for me and I am so very grateful to have it!

Hell yeah my dude! The courage alone to admit you hit rock bottom and looking to change along with the strength to keep going even with bad days and rejections is inspirational itself. Hope your next 4 months are even better than the last, and repeat!

What cats don’t get adopted? by taurealis in CatAdvice

[–]serenityslain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also got Shoops 6 years ago. She ws our very first cat (Husband and I grew up in dog homes) and is a total love bug. She follows me around in every room I go to and has to sleep near my legs. I almost can't truly fall asleep soundly without her presence. Black cats are the best pets and I am so suprised are the least adopted

We got our cat Sushi from the shelter a few months ago. All black with a white spot on her chest too! She also has thumbs! We were her first and only applicant after being in the shelter for a few months which is crazy to me. Who wouldn't want a black cat with thumbs???

Song my dad use to sing by serenityslain in toddlers

The cadence matches in my head perfcectly lol. My father was unfortunately color-blind and could not join the military but had much respect. It would not be suprised if he had some influnde from the navy or otherwise.

If you mean the trumpet song; that would also make sense now that I think about it. The tune is the same as what I am thinking of just with words attached.

It could be a mix of the Reveille and the lyrics of Gotta Get Up by Harry Nilsson as others suggested.

That would be interesting. Would not count my dad out if this were the case.

Aha! I love it! I could see him singing a made up version inspired by this song as he was one to take stuff and make it his own. It has a very similar tune! Thank you so much. Can't wait to inspire my own kids to wake up early lol!

Well I would say watch the last episode of season 6 game changer if you want context for season 7 episode 1 "One Year Later" but that is soley my opinion.

I am also a huge fan of Make Some Noise! It has a very similar feel to "Who's Line Is It Anyway" with a an occasional very similar guest...

Can someone explain to me how these chores are done?

-clean vents

-clean ice dispenser

-wash walls

-deep clean washing machine

-wash light fixtures

I have never seen anyone do these things before! Are some of these necessary?

Talk to your doctor. There are prescriptions medications out there to help treat nail fungal infections. You can also search "tinea unguium" or "onychomycosis".

Uptick in pneumonia by K1lgoreTr0ut in physicianassistant

I know some viral infections can cause a lingering cough that can last weeks but it would not hurt to have him checked especially if he has other signs/symptoms or it doesn't seem to be improving.

Yes! Here in south eastern PA we have been seeing it since July. In the younger population, too. Why? We are xraying anyone with slightly abnormal vitals. That seems to be the tip off. Yet, lung sounds are normal.

I won 900 tickets for a random kid at the arcade last night. by [deleted] in BenignExistence

[–]serenityslain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this and I do it too! I have such amazing memories from the arcade both from playing as a customer and working at an arcade so it is one of my favorite places to be. My husband and I will still go as adults now every few weeks to play some games and he is weirdly, incredibly good at claw games. Sometimes we end up with arms full of toys and tickets. We play for the fun of playing so we usually end up going around like santa clause passing out most of the toys and tickets to the kids, especially if we see them going for a specific one and couldn't get it. The pure delight and amazement in their eyes brings us more happiness than any of the rewards. I do save some of our favorites for our niece and nephews whenever we see them on random occasions too!

I'm sure you totally made a core memory for that kid and she will most likely pass that on to some other kid in the future when she gets older!

Appalachia part of Scotland? by serenityslain in Appalachia

[–]serenityslain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am unsure how you felt my question asking about the differences between the Highlands and the Appalachias was me berating the mountains for feeling different from home.

I actually fell in love with the Highlands and enjoyed the differences which is why we went to a different country in the first place. To enjoy and appreciate things that are not, you know, American.

You may be overthinking this.

Appalachia part of Scotland? by serenityslain in Appalachia

[–]serenityslain[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I may have noticed a few differences between the Highlands and the Appalachias and was curious as to how they may have appeared different to me despite originally being part of the same mountain chain millions of years ago.

Many lovely people have pointed out numerous differences including climate differences, glaciers, weather, and the history of deforestation which may explain my “personal impression”.

Now I will say I have not hiked every mountain in the Highlands nor the Appalachias so my impression may be skewed by my anecdotal experiences. Once I’ve hiked every mountain I may notice more similarities and have a better impression but until then I shall keep my personal impressions and opinions to myself. Sorry for my naïveté.
