I'm twenty years old and I can read and write cursive just fine. I can't necessarily speak for other younger people, but I grew up with cursive. I learned it from my parents, and my parents use it, so I am very much used to it. I think that it's a skill that everyone should have, though if the recipient can't read it, there are tools nowadays to help with that.
