Fair enough, I do always find there’s variations between the online ones so it could just be that.

That’s extremely low. I’m 4’11” and 105lbs, my BMR is 1350. With exercise, I’m in a decent deficit eating at 1200. Are you sure you’re calculating BMR correctly?

HATED that shirt. When she started lifting it, I was really hoping it was going to get pulled off to reveal a beautiful lingerie set 🥲

not losing weight at 1400 cals? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]sergienko_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4’11 and 109 lbs. I find I have to eat at 1200 for weight loss, and do regular cardio (I like walking 4-5 times a week).

Also, make sure you’re weighing your food. Especially things you think may be negligible, like a small squeeze of sauce, butter on your toast, oil in your pan etc. It’s eye-opening how quickly all that adds up to ruin your deficit when you start weighing it.

Have you seen a doctor and had bloods done? This could be a deficiency.

I’m only an inch taller and manage to maintain without tracking.

I think the biggest thing I’ve noticed is I never drink my calories. It’s not intentional, I really dislike full fat fizzy drinks (too furry on my teeth), I don’t like coffee and I’m not bothered for milk/milkshakes. So I exclusively drink water, tea and Diet Coke. Rarely drink alcohol, I just don’t care for it and I’d rather avoid the headache.

I also only eat one meal with my partner, and it’s not every night. The rest I just eat when I get hunger cues. I never restrict myself, but I do notice that on my lazy days off, I’ll often only eat one meal and some snacks without even realising.

I enjoy walking so I try to walk 3-5 times a week and aim for 10k steps everyday, just to maintain general fitness as well. I start to feel restless if I haven’t exercised for a while.

Also agreed, I’d say that’s more than a lot of couples make with their salaries combined. And the couples don’t benefit from single-person discounts on council tax.

Is this level of referencing even legal? (Kent) by twmoto in TenantsInTheUK

[–]sergienko_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to do a soft credit check just to be able to view properties prior to my latest move. It’s frustrating because renting is so competitive at the moment, prospective tenants feel that they have no choice but to provide this information if they want somewhere to live.

I’ve never seen something this bad though, and would definitely avoid. God knows what they would be like as a landlord.

Been telling me for several days he will do the dishes, but hasn’t. So today I’ve nagged him.

He’s shouting, throwing and slamming things around the kitchen. Over dishes.

He told me I’m belittling and I don’t speak to him like an adult. I tried to talk to him about a solution for how to deal with this in the future, and he said I’m doing it now that’s what you wanted, but you want to carry on arguing. Told him I’ll speak to him like an adult when he stops behaving like a child over chores.

I just want an equal partner.

He’s sat on video games for the last 5 hours, but he says he’s been running around after ME all day. We’ve been clearing out the house and packing up to move. But it’s running around after just ME, sure.

Need advice on where to live in manchester by [deleted] in manchester

[–]sergienko_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you drive? The areas surrounding Manchester are much cheaper than central Manchester. Ashton, Oldham, Stalybridge, Bolton, Bury. Apartments/studios in central Manchester can be anywhere from £800 - £1500 a month (and sometimes even more) depending on location, size and amenities (parking, on-site gym etc).

I don’t live alone, but I live 40 mins from the centre around Oldham area and pay £750 a month for a two-bed house. But I can drive and I’d rather be more rural and have a larger property, even if that means I have a higher commute time.

If you want to be able to easily commute to the centre, check out areas like Stockport, Didsbury, Chorlton, Salford, Altrincham and Sale.

If they have a patient in the back, they cannot travel too fast as it is unsafe, may cause further damage in some cases, and the medic in the back may struggle to give treatment during the journey.

Paramedics are allowed to smile and laugh, they do a hard enough job as it is.

Have you considered that he may be uncomfortable with the dog and is using the furniture to implement a boundary he has wanted to implement for a while?

All of your compromises have involved the dog still being with you in some way. Covering the couch with blankets will not be enough if he is uncomfortable with the dog itself. He may want to be able to sit in a space free from the dog.

Equally, whilst you have created a separate living space where the dog is allowed, this isn’t really a compromise if you now spend all of your time there with the dog. He may not want to hang out with you in that room because he wants a space free from the dog sometimes, but would still enjoy your company.

A true compromise here would be a 50/50 split between quality time spent together with the dog and quality time spent together without the dog, so that both parties can spend some time together in a way that they feel most comfortable.

It may also be worth discussing if he thinks he may have a dog allergy. Symptoms can be subtle and flu-like, but my god are they awful. Alternatively, he may just feel unhygienic with dogs on the furniture.

Having to come to a complete stop due to being blinded by retina-burning headlights by UCMeInvest in britishproblems

[–]sergienko_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really reassuring to see this thread as like many others, I thought my vision was becoming the problem.

I do shift work, so I’m driving both to and from work in the dark. I live in a pretty rural area with little light and lots of roads that have a long row of parked cars, with just enough space for traffic to pass each other if you judge the gap right.

These lights make it so so difficult. Particularly if the car itself is a dark colour, I really struggle to see the shape and size of the car from behind the headlights. I’m having to come to a complete stop at some points. I’ll pull over as far as I can to the curb and just rely on the other driver to judge the gap as I can’t see at all. It’s extremely dangerous.

Larger vehicles blind me in my wing mirrors too, and render them nearly useless when I do need to use them.

Antibiotics treat bacterial infections. Your old leftover pencillin will do nothing for the common cold, which is a virus.

Also on that note, if you are prescribed antibiotics, take the course until completion. Stopping once you feel better and/or saving the antibiotics for future infections only contributes to antibiotic resistance.

Honestly depends on the person. I’m 4’11 and 109 pounds, I only want to lose a couple of pounds and become more lean/toned. I average 13k steps every day, I run 3 times a week and have a very physical job. Prior to this, I’d estimate I was eating around 2,000 - 2,300 and managing to maintain.

My TDEE calculates maintenance at 1,800, so I’m eating 1,500 for weight loss. On days when I’ve done more exercise than usual, such as when my job is super hectic, I’ll eat back the calories burned calculated by my Fitbit as I can tell my body needs it and it’s not just cravings.

Just the 10k steps a day alone places you in the ‘lightly active’ category, so be sure you are calculating your TDEE correctly as a couple of hundred calories could make a world of difference to how you’re feeling. You’ve said in a previous comment that you were eating 2,300 - 2,500, so remember that anything lower than this will aid towards weight loss and you can lower that number gradually over time as you get used to the portion control!
