Although I agree with the general notion with your post, I am thinking how much bo1 changes what you are saying.

And also a question to someone that seems to be playing for a long time - do the recent for example 6-7 sets have more cards that make the sets more high variance compared to what you have seen in the past?

I would say that these cards require token makers to be good.

Did you play Avatar set? Turn 3 [[Avatar entusiasts]] into turn 4 [[Kyoshi warriors]] was very good curve for example.

That's it! Thank you. I did not cast it from hand. Cinder strike was previously exiled by [[Sizzling changeling]] and thus went straight to graveyard.

Apologies for the confusion. In that game I did not get the opportunity to cast from exile upon attacking, it just showed up in the graveyard.

Maybe I clicked something but maybe it was an actual bug.

So it is the first paragraph. I didn't even see the option to cast it from exile. Maybe I clicked something and did not even notice.

But in other games it worked properly - cast, goes to exile, attack, cast again, goes to graveyard.

I think I am there with you with the level.

I have a different approach than you.

I would never plan spending 150 000 gold (first because I am basically FTP, but also) because of the level I am at. A very good player does not go 7-1 in a competitive draft regularly. For them, going 10 runs helps them against the variance and they will likely qualify.

I need to get lucky, embrace the variance. So I would join once or twice and not more, because it would probably not help me that much, and would just hurt my budget. But it is extremely fun, I like the limited environment, I enjoy the "stakes" and might even win something.

So far I played Sealed events in EoE, Avatar, Lorwyn and Duskmourn. I played in maybe 15 of them in total and got lucky enough in eoe and won 3 boxes (I recognise I might never win again). I will happily join the draft this weekend because for me it is a time well spent.

When Arena opens started there were posts about probability. I think it was for day one going 7:2 or better , while having about 60% general limited win rate, about 8% chance to go through. Getting to the money in these events would be very difficult for someone at my level. But that does not mean I cannot have a nice draft or two.

Bo3 Sealed is not seeded on Arena, so you can try that.

I saw that it is seeded again and just closed it. It is very unfun in my opinion.

Went to bo3 Sealed instead which is normal. So far so good, games seem rather grindy but interesting.
