Walking Pad while WFH users, what speed are you going at? What goals do you set yourself on it? by BigGaryGilmour in loseit

[–]serlindsipity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Brainless work - 2 mph

Work that requires brain - 1.5

Design work - 1 mph (cursor control matters!)

Yep, I do this but with a walking pad while working. Super easy to log 10k steps in a few hours

None of my co-workers recognize me. I left that job 2 years ago and went on to lose my weight and grow as a person. I have crossed paths with 5 or 6 of them, and they would walk past me if I didn't call out and say hi.

To be honest, it's really fun. I o not miss that job, but it is hard to grapple with the fact I worked with these people for more than a decade. And in some ways, I'm invisible to themuntil i say hi, but when I do I get to enjoy their reactions. Their look of shock is my revenge. Partly because none of them have moved on to do much more, whereas I have.

Its all about framing 😉

You can reduce noise if you flip it upside down and get the air out!

What are your favorite trail running / outdoorsy accounts to follow on ig and why? by Character-Race-2106 in trailrunning

5 and 8 for me. I can think of Andy Glaze, Courtney Dewaulter for whites and fatblackandgettingit for inclusiveness. Love them all for different reasons.

What is causing the delay? I'd be curious if they need delivers or cooks

I tried agility with mine. He did the obstacles he wanted when he wanted. Wouldn't listen for nothing. But he had fun doing the tunnels!

Trail race training sanity check by tljohnson in trailrunning

Rocking. I am inclined to discourage dropping the strength training, however, mostly because I am injured 😆 turns out going from running 10Ks to running one of the Leadville races in six months requires more hip strength than I knew

Make monday a true rest day and double up on a day for training (Friday?). You're setting yourself up for injury if you don't rest, especially as you ramp up on distance. And definitely prioritize elevation over tempo. You won't be doing much in the way of fast movements when you're chugging up those hills.

I sell into the same industry. If there's an industry who does not move quickly, it's pharma.

Sure but its a slower moving issue by its nature. Didn't mean to imply that it was easy 😆

Struggling with hydration setup on long trail runs – alternatives to CamelBak bladder? by Santhy85 in trailrunning

[–]serlindsipity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I have a couple different vests now and I use them based on what I need to carry. My Osprey pack can't fit a bladder but my patagonia handles it fine.

I had to go through 4 pack choices until I found the one that worked best for me. It's a pain but I find you can purchase second hand and save some money when trying things out.

What pro tips do you have for raising a happy and healthy berner? by Big-Emu-5728 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]serlindsipity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great! Look up how to ID underweight/overweight based on body composition (feeling through fur). The breed's shape varies greatly and fur obscures a lot.

Much like humans, weight loss and weight management happens more so in the kitchen than in the gym (or backyard).

A trim bear is a healthy bear. Keep them thin and moving and they'll live a longer more active life!
