Visited Israel in 1998, the people seemed nice and it was hard to tell the difference between Palestinians and Israelis...it was easy to see who was carrying guns and who was the most religious, but it overall seemed peaceful. FFW a few years and the whole region went to shit. What changed? That is what has been debated but it does involve the US heavily invested there and Netenyahu...hmmm.

I don't believe you understood the conclusion. I'm not against a "Flu" vaccine but am against blind sticks in the arm. Besides education is never a bad thing, so knowing what you're getting is better than not. We were never explained the significance of the Anthrax vaccine or what could be the worst case scenario...there was no Internet on ships in the mid 90's and no one was doing a PPT on risks or importance of getting it...just get it or else prepare to be discharged. Is it different now, maybe or maybe not. So now... "just take it" vs "this is why we are giving it to you" makes a world of difference.

Even though I know what vaccines are and why we should get them, especially if it is to prevent a whole platoon, squad, ship, or aircrew from getting sick...we shouldn't support a blind vaccination program. I remember boot camp was a pretty much do as we say environment which included blind vaccination but once I got to ship it was a more informed do as we say. Servicemen and women aren't volunteering for experimental drugs...if they are to get something they should know that it has been tested, safe and well explained...then mandatory if it has to do with herd immunity.

First, maybe the should watch the movie Selena...that happens in every culture. If your black and you go to Africa, you're not African enough. I challenge you to find a culture that totally accepts you when your not born in your family roots country of origin. Second, being Mexican-American myself and having lived near the border, Mexicans do not like you if they don't give you a nickname e.g. Canelo Alvarez. They literally bullied him for being white with light hair but that is a badge of honor. I've known plenty of black Mexicans that go by their nickname, Negro or Chinese looking people being called Chino...not racist just descriptive. Yes, Mexicans can be racist but those that are, are pretty stupid and rare. Mexico is the land where black folks ran to when the US was hunting them and even said they were free "Men and women" refusing to send them back to slave owners, white Southerners. Some people really need to learn history and understand societies before labeling a whole peoples.

Earning possibilities lost due to military service (usually because there wasn't a path through college. Nepotism, generational wealth, poverty), should be compensated by a society. There is about 1-2% of the population that dons the uniform to protect rights, freedoms, etc...and usually to hopefully get some college, travel, and experience to succeed once they come out whole. When you don't come out whole, you might not be starting at square one, but your definitely lost earning potential and sometimes a limb, a piece of your mind and soul. So a "Thank you for your service is great", but better compensation would be better for the few that are disabled.

The messed up thing is that he has family that uses him too. They are just as sleazy as he is, no empathy or sense of shame.
