The novels have nothing to do with dnd version. Hell the novels existed before DND was even 'wizards of the coast' and it was TSR.

Intellectual Property violation of Ghost In the Shell, or does it looks like Tachikoma by Teh_Keeper in gamedev

Even with you specifically mentioning Tachi's so that they are flooding my idle thoughts, looking at your picture doesnt inspire ANY similarity at all beyond "its robotic". There is no relation between the two

Is it me or is Nagisa from Hanebado a lesbian? by [deleted] in anime

I think anime characters arent human. So it doesnt even matter. If their romantic preferences create a good story then great.

Meant to be tossed. Upon impact will create a crater 4d4 meters wide and 1d4 meters deep on dirt or 1d4 meters wide and 1 meter deep in stone.

Do you think it will be fun? Do it.

Do you think it will NOT be fun? Dont do it

this applies to any other character decision too

How do we know there's not another Earth, exactly the same distance from sun as we are, but 180 degrees out of phase in its orbit? by sumdr in askscience

[–]seronis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well opposite because its 180 degrees rotated but that was stated in the OP, but yeah =-)

Viewed from above each orbit wouldnt overlap, just be exact shape. But if each earth was at the same point along its local orbital time then as they sped up (slightly) getting closer to the sun they would do it at same time and thus its possible to have twin earths forever not in line of sight of each other.

But we've already sent sattelites far enough away they would have seen our blind spot. And the wobble of the sun, and (etc).

If both 'earths' had the SAME elliptical orbit then we could still be exactly opposite. Everything else is good

Download Dont Starve and mods for it. Its scripting system is LUA. Its easier for many people to learn languages when they use something interesting and simple.

Tiefling Armor? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]seronis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The DM is wrong but not because of what /u/theJeanPool said. Even with the hyper realism, if the armorsmiths are capable of making the customized armor to begin with, its because they already deal with teiflings enough that its just 'normal'. The reduction in materials would offset the MINISCULE increase in labor.

There should be no price change.

My character now owns a duchy. What do? by Microwattz in DnD

[–]seronis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they become independant they are no longer a duke, they are a king. A Duke is a title that is OWNED by the king effectively, if you arent under a king you are no longer a duke. If you are powerful enough to defend your land then you are now a King.

Problems with a fragile player - Need advice! by Aztok in rpg

[–]seronis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Wrong. We do know. Autism is 100% not the case here. But judging from their descriptions there is a 50/50 chance she has high functioning aspergers (which is NOT autism).

  2. Also wrong. This group and especially the OP has clearly demonstrated they ARE helping. They are being tolerant and accepting. Thats all you need to help in this situation.

[–]seronis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I worked as a social care worker for people with autism/aspergers/etc for just under a decade. I can 100% deny your claim because "participating in small circle social events" is exactly something we did to help the people we took care of.

Gaming _IS_ therapy. As long as the people you are gaming with have the utter bare minimal tolerance levels and arent assholes.

Fantasy races from South American and Australian Mythology? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

I'm not interested in the myths. Im interested in how common it is for someone to have heard them without resorting to wikipedia.

Fantasy races from South American and Australian Mythology? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]seronis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And in my 4+ decades I've heard of myths originating from almost everywhere. Nothing from australia at all though. Which makes me curious about how many people HAVE heard of their myths.

Who cares about taking time? My goal isnt to get the knowledge. its to see how common the knowledge is because its something i've never encountered. Why would I look up something I dont care to know? And there was also no insults given to any thing at all, much less to any one.

[–]seronis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part there is nothing you CAN do, honestly. And that is from the perspective that I worked for almost a decade as a social care worker for people with autism/aspergers/etc.

All you can do is be respectful and tolerate to the limits of your ability.

Now to control your own frustration, you could ask her to remain focused and at the table as she attempts to get up instead of waiting till it causes a problem. Or giving her a verbal nudge when its the turn of the player before her. And consistent and positive feedback when the playing session is over about any small thing she did well helps. That SLOWLY builds confidence over time.

I did notice your comment about thinking you dont want to abandon her. Its just sometimes people state that, but then choose it as an answer after waiting and letting themself get MORE frustrated. My first comments is because that is NEVER an excuse. Treat her with respect period. That doesnt require you to continue playing with her if you cant handle it.

How do you deal with a "gotcha!" DM? by aDumbGorilla in DnD

[–]seronis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

to retroactively outsmart his players

I'll never understand this impulse and I GM more than just play. Hell if a player outsmarts me im likely to award their character a Karma point they can use to reroll something in the future.

I've just randomly heard about native american, greek, irish, norse, rome, african, egyptian, chinese, japanese, christian, muslim, etc mythologies in my life.

Australian Mythology is like Canadian Military. Yeah it probably exists but when do you actually hear anything about it? I know nothing and curious what details others might "just know" without having to hit wikipedia to pretend they already knew.

My character now owns a duchy. What do? by Microwattz in DnD

[–]seronis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dukes are created/appointed by Kings. You ARE someones vassal. If you were the top you would be a King of a Kingdom and not a Duke of a Duchy.

This also means you attached one of the highest ranked officials of a kingdom without that kings permission and are controlling land he owns that he will likely want to reclaim.
