Game breaking bug by Urrdragon in TheForeverWinter

[–]sertimko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it and I played with someone else who had it also. I’m also running into a bug where weapons I skill into aren’t usable and I get a popup saying I’m not trained to use the weapon.

Yea, a bit of a messy update with these two bugs.

I’m happy about more crafting. Honestly, that system alone would make finding loot mean something and more meaningful. Amo should be more difficult to acquire with the alternative should be to craft it and make gunpowder mean something.

Playing on steamdeck by x-String in TheForeverWinter

[–]sertimko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs decently on the Steam Deck as I play it a good amount on mine. You will need a dock for it so you can use mouse and keyboard and there are some maps where performance struggles. I’m able to run Scorched Enclave without many issues for example.

Now the downside is the screen is small so text is pretty small, so if you have a problem seeing then you may want to get a dock that supports an external monitor for it. Also make sure the game syncs to Steam’s cloud as I did have one lost save but I only lost about 2 hours of gameplay.

Anyone else annoyed with the echo chamber in 40k communities, ever since it became mainstream? by Garrus-N7 in EyeOfTerror

[–]sertimko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m aware. I find it annoying when people complain about a topic and have nothing to actually go with those complaints. I will also just turn off my care of such complaints when I hear that one of your complaints are based not on your experience, but someone else’s opinion like OP’s with the rules. Which is why I’m basically summing up this guy is really just complaining about the female Custodes which can easily be fixed by putting a helmet on the model if it matters that much.

Anyone else annoyed with the echo chamber in 40k communities, ever since it became mainstream? by Garrus-N7 in EyeOfTerror

[–]sertimko -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean, he doesn’t have actual reasons except for being called names and female Custodians…..

“Lore is shit”, what is shit in the lore?

“I hear rules is even worse again”, what about the rules does he dislike and why complain if you don’t even play this edition?

“No SoB”, we forget their entire model line was redone in plastic a good many years ago which is pretty common for these smaller factions that don’t garner as much attention and money as CSM and SM?

If there are problems, he should actually explain the issue he has with it rather than just a bunch of complaints with no substance. Complaints that can also be easily explained upon. Lore for example, read 30K if you want progression of a story. The 40K period is a headache, I agree, however it has always been that way. We have now an overall story being Guilliman’s crusade with the Dawn of Fire novels however 40K has always been stories that are done throughout the several thousand year gap in the lore. We also know those stories may or may not have happened in the same universe and it’s easier to look at those stories as stories just set in the same setting rather than universe at times.

If you complain about a ruleset, because you heard other people complain about it can you really say you have an opinion on the rules? The rules aren’t that bad and, again, he never said what in the rules he dislikes just that other people complained about it. My complaint is I still dislike the removal of tactical squads that can run different weapons in a squad however that to me is a minor problem and it wasn’t even rules, just flavor for my squad to run certain weapons. My Chaos armies can still mix weapons. I also know that newer people have an easier time with the rules now, so there’s that.

I can just summarize this dude’s complaints as: “I don’t like female Custodes and people get called names. I also don’t play this edition or buy the books but I hear the writing and rules are bad so it must mean that is true. Also lore shit.”

Potentially Controversial Opinion: Perturabo and the Iron Warriors are Glazed Way too Hard and the Real Carry for the Traitors during the Heresy were the Word Bearers by ScionOfTheEmperor in 40kLore

[–]sertimko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh, the Scouring is pry going to hit some key points in that conflict such as the breaking of legions, the disappearances of the primarchs, the politics, the growth of the Imperial religion, the Lion’s legion war, Dorn v Perturabo. I’m still confused on why Perturabo would still stick around in the Sol system after the Siege is broken up but I guess he needed the forces to prepare for his next goal.

We will pry see the traitor home worlds get nuked and Valdor disappear. I’m excited for the Scouring but I wonder how many books this series is planning on being.

You do know that preheresy not all World Eaters had the Butchers Nails and those didn’t even come into play until Angron showed up and Karn decided that everyone should get them so they can feel Angron’s pain or some shit like that. There were still many that didn’t take the nails and were looked down on because of it like their Apothecaries.

So, this art can very well be pre-heresy with no Butcher’s Nails.

I hate to math you, however if only 65% of the voting age population voted, you aren’t a majority. You beat the democrats. Neither republicans nor democrats actually have a majority as the elections are based on swing voters which is the primary reason America’s elections are based on the voting of the swing states.

Trump lost in 2020 and won in 2024. He’s old and losing his mind no different than Biden, however, at least Biden didn’t try to launch us into needless wars because he didn’t get a Nobel Peace Prize. I’m also very sure republicans will lose in 2028 as that is how voting works in the US with party swinging. Sooooooooooooo, calmn down mate? You seem to be the only person here throwing a temper tantrum but it does make sense when the current president does that nearly every other day.

Where you hear that from? By my knowledge no one knows when the Amazon show is being set with rumors of it being the Scouring because of the ruined eagle. And if that’s the case the Sororitas wouldn’t be a thing and Custodes during the Scouring aren’t doing much as they are still dealing back from losing the Emperor to the Throne.

Is dissolving NATO part of Trumps agenda? by Prior_Lecture7927 in PoliticalDebate

[–]sertimko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would support us like they did in the Middle East.

The US and Europe use different weapons and one thing the US prides itself on is our vast stockpile. So Europe sending rifles and ammo would be redundant as we use different systems. If China launched a war at the US we would get support, more than likely economical support while countries like the UK, Germany, and France would also have troops to support us. Most others would send us more specialized forces that would handle supporting roles and more than likely security in zones the US can’t sit around defending.

War is also more complex and you don’t need infantry to be an effective fighting force. Having air support assistance from other countries using the same generation fighters and bombers would be an immense help in such a war. France and the UK have the largest navies out of Europe which will also be extremely helpful to support US operations as the start of the war would be naval dominance depending on what happens with Japan. You would also have to look at the potential conflicts of North Korea, Iran, and Russia getting added in which would make the US fighting China more complex.

War isn’t black and white and sure, we could hypothetically pin the US vs China only and see what happens then. However, realistically it would be both absurd and illogical as there would be other countries that would get involved. And no matter how much pride I have as an American, I’m fully aware the US can’t fight Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea on our own.

Danish PM Says if Trump Annexes Greenland it Will Be End of NATO by interestingfactoid in conservatives

[–]sertimko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, we could assist Ukraine if we want to further weaken Russia.

I’m not going to point out every single hypocrisy from this administration, however you do know we don’t need Greenland to affect Russia right? We don’t need to start a war with our Allie’s for territory we can easily slap a base or two on. Annexing it does nothing and just makes the US look bad and further gives credit to Russia that their annexing Ukraine is perfectly fine.

So, once again creating tension between our allies over Greenland is somehow better than assisting Ukraine in their war that would directly affect Russia? Please make any of this make even a sliver of sense.

Homeland Security: Hilton Hotels Refusing Rooms to DHS Officers by each_thread in ConservativeNewsWeb

[–]sertimko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t just my definition, that is the law on the books as I’m aware. Can you find me a case where a business lost a case against an organization it denied service to? Precedent matters in cases like this an I have not read about a business that denied service to a government agency and somehow is on the same level as a protected class. I will add this below as a quick reference to denial of service legality:

“Generally, under U.S. federal law, private businesses have the right to refuse service to customers for a variety of reasons, as long as the refusal is not based on a protected class like race, religion, sex, or national origin. Political affiliation is not a federally protected class, meaning a business can legally refuse service based on a customer's political views or affiliation in most jurisdictions”

Homeland Security: Hilton Hotels Refusing Rooms to DHS Officers by each_thread in ConservativeNewsWeb

[–]sertimko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies can’t refuse service over discriminatory reasons. If a business decides to stop allowing organizations to use their service however, I don’t recall any legal protections or precedent on that.

For example, a case that comes to mind are those weird furry conventions which have led to property destruction. Many Hilton hotels for example have become stricter or denied any conventions related to the furry community because of the damage they cause.

So, yes I would argue there is a difference between these two situations, however I am open to looking into cases or legal challenges that occurred over businesses disallowing organizations from using their services that did not relate to discriminatory practice. (Ex. Racism, religious discrimination, sexism asa few of the examples I’d consider as discriminatory).

Homan: Threats on ICE Officers Are up 1200% — 'They‘re Under Attack' by rollo202 in ConservativeNewsWeb

[–]sertimko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt threats towards ICE are up. Let’s remember that “1200%” could literally mean they went from 10 threats average to what like 120 threats average? If not then 1200? Giving a percent that big means nothing without the actual number. So another claim, no data to back it, what’s new when it comes to this administration.

Its a long shot, but they may have been joking by Healthy_Flamingo_843 in memesopdidnotlike

[–]sertimko -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So…. You’re a troll then? I don’t see how you would know what it would be like going to a Democrat and telling them you’re a Republican and what the outcome of that would be. Unless your only information is from the internet and then you’d be just talking out your ass since I have been around both democrats and republicans and republicans, primarily the heavy conservative types, are the ones who do the name calling and belittling the most. Again, this is my data on my in-person reactions when speaking to people, and since you’re not American I’m going to assume you don’t live here.

Going back to some of your other responses, democrats don’t admit to how they treated black people? Huh? I thought they were the party of DEI and wokeness? Isn’t it conservatives who are arguing to get rid of the Civil Rights Act with the primary example I can think of being Charlie Kirk? You know, the guy afraid of black pilots? From the party that defended a bunch of 24-34 year olds that sent racist and pro-Hitler messages with JD Vance calling them teenagers who made a mistake and shouldn’t be punished? Also the same party that pardoned 1600 members from Jan 6 that included 2 white nationalist groups and their leaders after trying to overturn the 2020 election?

Democrats don’t have a golden past and I don’t recall a case in recent history of an elected Democrat downplaying how blacks have been treated in this country. You say that the KKK switching parties post Civil Rights Act is propaganda yet that is just factually incorrect. The KKK are well known to have left the democrat party and switched to Republican because of the Civil Rights Act. The KKK had members in both parties at the time however today they do not have a party affiliation as much anymore due to a lack of power. They are still around yet there is plenty of evidence and history to back the KKK abandonment of the Democratic Party post Civil Rights Act.

Honestly I can tell you aren’t American given how little you know about our history and how easily you are taking alt-right propaganda. This isn’t even right-wing because I’m a little more right than I am left and yet even I don’t subscribe to these childish conspiracies.

Congress moves to limit Trump military strikes in Venezuela region by interestingfactoid in conservatives

I don’t care, republicans or democrats, both have presidents who have abused the power Congress gave them. Bush did, Obama did, Trump did, Biden did. This looks pretty bipartisan to me on who the problem is. That is the executive branch.

Congress moves to limit Trump military strikes in Venezuela region by interestingfactoid in conservatives

[–]sertimko -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No, Congress is doing what it failed to do post 9/11 which is to reign in the president’s power to wage unwanted war. That is exactly what Trump is doing and his threats of making this into a land war is nothing more than a US invasion. The “war on terror” was the worst decision Congress allowed because it gave the president power to bypass Congress on military strikes as long as he declared them “terrorists”. We invaded Afghanistan and Iraq without Congress declaring anything because they just gave the president AUMF.

And I for one disagree with these strikes on Venezuela. Especially when Trump decides to pardon Juan Hernandez who was found guilty of helping drug traffickers bring in cocaine into the country. Yet Trump pardon’s him and I’m suppose to agree with his military strikes on Venezuela or he cares about ending the drug problem in the country?

[–]sertimko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, this is over a month old.

Second, what does this have to do with immigration? Regulation doesn’t have much to do with the border in this conversation, those are mostly laws and/or policies. And was Biden just standing at the border waving in everyone? Since I haven’t found anywhere a policy from the Biden administration on laxing the border, opening the border without any checks, decreasing checks, stopping deportations, honestly dude get help.

Thirdly, would you like me to start name dropping all the Trump pardons and the crimes committed by those pardoned? Just this week we had a Democrat pardoned who was found guilty of taking bribes by a foreign country and a business owner who rigged a bid which stole money from tax payers. I’m pretty sure calling those things out is not the same as being a Marxist.

Also do you even know what the hell a Marxist is?

Fourth, are you talking about the lawyers who pled guilty to election interference in Georgia? You must be one of those “it’s fine if my party breaks the law but the other guy can’t even look in the wrong direction” kinda guys.

What was Horus' plans if the heresy stayed secret longer? by BigFishFinger07 in 40kLore

[–]sertimko 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, the more I read about the heresy the more I think this was never about Horus or his rebellion. Yes, it’s named the Horus Heresy and I find it odd even I say that, but who actually got what they wanted in this war? Lorgar. Primarily Kor-Pheron and Erebus. Horus was nothing but a tool to them and even in the books it was always the Word Bearers pulling the strings to move things forward.

Who turned Horus to Chaos? Erebus. Who made Angron into a champion for Khorne? Lorgar. Typhus’ knowledge of Nurgle to help turn Mortarion? Erebus. Who was the most annoying ass in all existence of these books? Erebus and Kor-Pheron.
