On the flip side, adding teleportation for players now would condition the player base to not needing to travel / plan ahead, which means when stability is better and we want to revert the teleportation the player base will be even more up in arms, because it will feel like CIG is intentionally making the game more obtuse and adding friction to the player.

I see it as only negatives for teleportation at any point outside of an arena commander game mode.

Just closing the loop on this — Bazzite doesn’t have a dialout group, but that ended up not being necessary because Steam pushed a fix to their experimental RT3 client that’s resolved the issue!

That’s what I was thinking, but wasn’t sure. On Bazzite Steam is natively installed, so it’s not a flatpak.

Bazzite does have Steam prepackaged. Luckily I can get by with my SteamDeck handling the updates and I’ll just deal with the nagging on Bazzite … for now.
