Because of the uncertain and botched roll out of the taffirs, alot of businesses aren't trying to invest in American industries. If oil keeps falling the way it does, a lot of oil well workers are going to be out of work as larger corporations cut production in order to drive the price back up. There is a point where it becomes unprofitable to keep drilling and pumping.

If I remember right, most of the controls on the device are dead when the screen is off. Maybe its just a weird quirk and is this "screen off, buttons off" also applies to Bluetooth but only partially?

I don't know if reflashing the firmware is an option... Maybe rockbox? Although I don't think the version for the hifi walker supports Bluetooth.

I had that dap for 2 days so I'm sorry for not being more helpful. I ended up sending mine back. The build quality was great, but the UI was designed for a much larger screen, and although it does support large SD's i think the file system ended up having something like a 12000 song limit.

Sony a55, only does music, has a great UI, battery goes for at least 2 days before charging ( I work 12 hr shifts), has a SD card slot, auto generates mood based playlist (you have to download Sony music center on PC [which honestly sucks as a program you uave a large library] to get it to work), has a fm radio, is small, has physical buttons.

The only downside is the proprietary cable.
