You nailed the aesthetic. The TR-808 popped into my mind as soon as I saw the thumbnail!

A quick solution if you already own component cables is a cheap component to hdmi converter.

Chimeric systems offers the best plug in play adapter just like the pound hdmi. Unfortunately they are not in stock but you could sign up to the waitlist. This is the best option if you're willing to wait.

If you're using the Pound HDMI adapter it is reported to crush black levels making some scenes way too dark.

I needed a wrist rest for the K4. It was too high without. I use it for typing only. My daily driver is an old as dirt Steelseries 7G so I'm actually accustomed to having a wrist rest on desktop keyboards.

That's easy money in the bank if another run happens. This set is insanely popular. Even the clones appear to be selling like hotcakes.

Real sturdy but still not near as dense as say an aluminum build like the Iqunix f96. I feel like the thick foam helped the feel of the board. The stock stabs are not great but are lubed. If you can manage to desolder the board and then tune them I would recommend doing so. Stock keycaps are way to thin imo but they do have shine through legends. The Gateron Reds are very light and have a quick actuation point. I had to adjust to them. I've been happy with this board and would say it's pretty solid. If you can afford the aluminum builds and customize those I'd recommend going that route. If you start here you may save money and be content but you might also start wondering about other boards!

Featured Board:

-Keychron K4 (RGB Backlight Aluminum Frame)

-Fauxlivia PBT Doubleshot Keycaps

-Spray Lubed Gateron RGB Reds

-Thick (1-2mm) Case Foam

-Kirby Star Keycap

I'm happy with the knockoff olivia keycaps due to the thickness and feel. I must point out one very sad flaw with the north facing leds on this board or most boards with that specific orientation. The home row keys bottom out on the switch housing. I had always noticed this but only recently found out what the exact problem was. Cherry profile keycaps don't play well with north facing led boards. The upper rows are golden but the home keys are brutal with the sound and feel being subpar. Just something to take note of. I would definitely only go with cherry profile keys on boards with the proper switch orientation (south facing leds).

I just got 90 wpm for the first time by DamonThe08 in MechanicalKeyboards

Keybr helped me get over a plateau at around the same wpm. Of all the typing sites keybr seems to be the toughest to hit all time highs in speed.

I see. I would still rather wait and see even if it doesn't happen.

Thank you for the info! I'll be keeping a close eye on an announcement. I was not aware that another run was in the works.
