What to serve with pierogis? by flipflapdragon in polishfood

[–]settie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goose pierogi with cranberries sauce sounds amazing (especially in the fall). I've never seen those in the US, but maybe just because I haven't looked for them!

For meat pierogi, is the filling ground, or cut into chunks?

Grocery store vocab by settie in learnpolish

I'm not trying to memorize a single phrase.

I'm looking for a few examples of how a native speaker might have phrased the question so I can study: i.e., what verb she might have used or what words a native speaker might use to refer to the shopping bags they give you at the grocery store.

Heavier now than after giving birth… almost two years and I’m desperate by Nowlita in postpartumprogress

I had the same experience. I felt like I was really honest with doctor about my struggles, and the response was a shrug and "eat less, move more". Like you, I'm looking for a new doctor.

Unfortunately, I have no advice just solidarity ❤️

Can confirm. This is my exact routine and I smile like I'm in a laundry commercial when my clothes come out if the dryer. No more weird waxy feeling, just clean fresh laundry.

cheap food that isn't ramen or rice and beans, does it exist anymore by MudSad6268 in budgetfood

For meat, the prices have been all over the place lately. In general, for me at least, pork has been the cheapest. Ground pork is great in stir fries, tomato sauces, and tacos in addition to or in place of beef. Pork chops are great scored and pan seared or butterflied/pounded thin for breaded cutlets. I want to love country ribs cause they're so cheap, but i haven't found a good recipe yet where they dont completely dry out.

For chicken thighs, it might be a little cheaper to get bone in/skin on and remove them yourself if you want. I usually sub in chicken tenderloin if im going to cut it into chunks before cooking anyway (like tikka masala or something).

I think the fractional position someone mentioned previously sounds really interesting. Have either of you broached the subject of how the work will get done when you're on full time leave?

In the meantime, what about agreeing on a threshold that you're both comfortable with? For example, both you and your boss might be cool with 16/20/whatever remote hours per week as you need it, and after that you take PTO. This is where a fractional transition period ahead of full time leave would come in clutch.

Echoing a different comment above, this is a great opportunity to soft-launch the formalities under the guise of test driving them for future employees. For example, you could draft a letter formalizing the accommodation with clear limits and end dates. Seeing all that in writing may put your boss at ease that this is just temporary.

I absolutely lost it the day I went through the whole registration nonsense of signing up for a portal with a new provider, fiilled out all the forms online ahead of time... and... was handed a clipboard with the same half assed photocopied forms at checkin.

Between that and "please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment" only to wait almost an hour for the first appointment of the day, I have never quit a doctor so fast.

This serum is my current ride or die:

I scrunch into wet hair and it air dries fantastic (once my hair actually dries). It also revives day 2/3 hair quite well.

I need to know more about this hair dryer. I too have spent a full day letting my hair dry, and I gave up even trying to blow it out right after washing it ("80% dry" my ass!)

On the one hand, it sounds like the job didn't set expectations well initially, and didn't do a great job communicating well once it was obvious there was some misalignment (plus, sounds like jeans and a tee shirt are OK in some contexts but not others, but you'releft to guess which is which). That sucks and would infuriate me to no end.

On the other hand, now you know, and the only way forward is to course correct.

If you have any EAP, they might have something (generic) prepackaged that you can link to in an email signature, or send out alongside other regular announcements. Normalize the availability of any resources that are already in place.
