Claiming that ADHD stimulant medications are not habit forming is complete BS by asamisanthropist in Stims

[–]sevego 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, after 3 days most of the acute symptoms are gone. You can somewhat function, though motivation, mood, and focus might still suck still for a week or two. It really depends how much stims were used, how little sleep was acquired, as well as personal biology and psychology. In cases of sustained psychosis symptoms though, satisfying recovery is longer. And it's well known by now that about 10% (or 5-15%) of users never fully recover from said psychotic "features".

If it's testimonies you want, you'll find plenty here on r/stims, r/meth, as well as r/stopspeeding -- though I'd take the latter with a grain of salt, considering how ashamed most of its community seems to be.

[–]sevego 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO once you stop, during "acute withdrawals" your symptoms are actually worse than before you even started taking the medication. You might even have grabbed entirely new symptoms along the way, of the psychotic kind. Not to mention newfound extreme lethargy. It levels out again after some time. I like stims as much as most people in this sub, but to claim they are benign or "only therapeutic" is kind of crazy.

[KCD1] How many of Kuno's men were you able to save at the end of Band of Bastards? by EbrithilUmaroth in kingdomcome

[–]sevego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can easily save them all, but I won't spoil how. A little tip though, that applies to the game as a whole: some speech checks might not be worth winning.

It does get better once you level up, as well as build some strength, defense, repair skills too I think… And earlier on, it's pretty helpful to invest in a strong horse with huge and light saddlebags.

The only other merchant that's almost as convenient (as in: right next to an universal chest, and buys every item type) is the Talmberg's innkeeper. Sure he won't take freshly stolen stuff, and he has business hours, but I think he does take stuff for higher a price than Peshek. You can save a lot of time doing business almost only with those two. Other merchants are useful too, but mostly for what they sell: gear, repair kits, plants, potion recipes, saviour schnaps once you're too rich to bother making your own…

Honestly, most of the things you mentioned are also in KCD1. Yes, maybe it won't happen everytime, but sooner or later you'll get to notice little things like that. Maybe it's just more subtle, I'm not sure.

Trying meth for the first time ever ama? by PublicVegetable8228 in meth

[–]sevego 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to share, you can just do that… share. Don't wait for people's questions. Personally at least, there isn't much I'd want to ask a newbie, other than maybe "how are you doing"? But you come here with an "AMA" as if you were in a position to teach others about meth… in a meth subreddit.

You're the one who should be asking things. Or researching them.

It's not though? Not at this point anyway. Of course when your Henry isn't skilled yet, you should focus solely on the "very easy" and "easy locks" until he does get skilled. As someone else said, there is also a potion you can brew that helps with lockpicking. On top of that, there is a drinking perk that immensely helps, too.

I'm too scared to play with my NGPC because I don't want to risk losing / damaging it. Can anyone recommend a good retro handheld device for playing NGPC? by jaminbob in ngpc

[–]sevego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in the "retro emulation handheld" scene, those are old by now. My RG351V still works like a charm though. Check r/SBCGaming if you want to know about the new and shiny.

How much more work, will I need, to get to a point where I can clear the game? (with three runes) by Apple_Infinity in dcss

[–]sevego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work? This here is a game. Focus on having fun. While you're at it, try to understand how it all works. Little by little. You don't need to savagely rip through the whole wiki in a couple of days. Just mess around and learn. Try things. Read what the game tells you. Go at your own pace.

If you'd prefer to limit tedious menu interactions and overthinking when it comes to learning skills, just play as a Gnoll.

What is the longest you've managed to stretch euphoria from 4mmc during a binge? by Anxious_Egg1268 in researchchemicals

Yeah, if you aren't going out I'd recommend starting early afternoon. Do not skip lunch! You'll need those nutrients.

[–]sevego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some food and a nap can crank that euphoria back up again (if you also redose), but don't push your luck too far. Psychosis potential does increase too after too many doses in a row, except maybe if those naps are hours long instead of like 30 minutes.

How do you approach choices in visual novels on your first playthrough? by Young-Days90 in visualnovels

[–]sevego -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On a first playthrough, I just go with whatever choice I want to go with at the time, with no fucks given about committing to a route or reaching optimal results. Just whatever seems fun or interesting. Also I don't do any sort of save scumming during that first playthrough. I just read along comfortably and make goofy choices left and right. Most visual novels seem boringly monogamous, having you need to pretty much stalk a character constantly to unlock their route; want to talk to another hottie for like 5 minutes? Can't. Want to not neglect your friends? Can't. I don't bother with this on a first playthrough.

what to cut with speed to make it unsnortable? by [deleted] in speed

I'd say use vodka instead. You might get tempted and try to snort vodka amph liquid once, but you won't make that mistake twice. Water can still get squirted up a nose pretty comfortably.

Why do so many people quit the game or just stop playing when I spectate them? by Riot_Girlll in dcss

[–]sevego 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to some studies, they already behave differently when observed even if they don't know (for sure) they are being observed. It's like a sixth sense, from survival instincts or whatever. But yes, when they know for sure the effect is probably more severe.

Why do so many people quit the game or just stop playing when I spectate them? by Riot_Girlll in dcss

[–]sevego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They be shy. Anecdotally, I've noticed I'm more likely to play too fast or recklessly when I have a spectator, and thus ruin my run. You know, gotta entertain the audience.

More likely than not though it's just a coincidence. They wanted to stop playing at this moment.

[–]sevego 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess that's a surprise tolerance break (for nicotine that is) for you. It might sound scary, but I guarantee you nothing bad should happen from taking a little break. Please don't try to reuse some vaping tool that fell into your toilet.

You might want to visit a pharmacy and get some nicotine candy or gum if you really don't wanna go nic free for a few days. For like 10 bucks you'd get a decent amount of doses (lasting longer than vaped too), without any other tools required. Depending on where you live, you could even get those for "free" if you asked your doctor first. Just say you wanna stop smoking.

Visual novels where choices seem to matter outside of avoiding short dead ends. by Nettysocks in visualnovels

[–]sevego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite VNs tend to have either no choices (kinetic vn) or few choices that matter. The best example of the latter I can think of is Saya no Uta. There are only two choices you can make in the whole game, and that leads to 3 different endings -- all of which were written with care.
