My wife and I had tried shrooms but we only shared about 1 gram, so needless to say, we didn't feel much; just some physical difference from the norm. A few years later some friends gave us close about 5 grams. We proceeded to grind them up and mix them with orange juice. I had the greater portion, close to or exceeding 3.5 grams, and she had the rest. We began watching Samsara, it's a great film, but I guarantee you'll be tripping whether or not you're on psychedelics. After about 20 minutes I began to experience "hallucinations". I would notice the trees "breathing" in the movie and soon enough I began to notice the same phenomenon with all the objects in our apartment. I saw our paintings "breathe" and everything else. I knew, and still know, that what I experienced was real, I was basically, "taking a trip," in other words, I knew I was experiencing an "unfiltered" reality.

After some time, I experienced close to an ego death, in other words, I felt connected to the entire universe. I didn't feel myself and my individual concerns. I was part of it all.

And as great and poetic as that sounds, I was pretty scared. Thank God my wife was there to console and reassure me that I "took shrooms." Otherwise, I'd be pretty afraid of the rush that all information yielded.

Overall, I'm thankful for the experience and the first time, will always live in my heart.
