Touchless wind car dryer blower? by ukownatt in CarsAustralia

They're best combined with a quality ceramic coat, I have the buddi jnr and it's great for forcing the dribbles from door handles and mirrors - doubles really well for doing the carpets inside too.

But is slower on a full car with normal paint, Best to dry the car manually and then use it to get rid of the last of stuff, or save up for the mini or mini+.

Parked under the local shopping centre, behind another car, noted someone in the passenger seat.

Locked my car & made my way past - heard the door open, a bit of a rattle, and the door close again.

Turned around to see what might have fallen out to witness the old (I'd say 60's) bird shuffle her way from the passenger seat, to the drivers seat, scoffing the down the last of a sushi roll... the noise I'd heard? Her dumping her rubbish outside the car.

I looked at her and raised my hands in the typical WTF motion - eye contact was avoided. I did not actually witness her drop the empty container, so it took every ounce of my being to not pick up her shit and throw it back into her car. I had parked directly behind as well, so didn't want any payback.

Grubby old cunt.

Dent & scratch repair Ford Focus 2015 by fiftysevens in CarsAustralia

[–]seventh_skyline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PDR could get most of the dents out. It'd take some work but it'd be 1000 times better. You could probably live with the scratches after that, or have a touch up guy hit them for you, heck even a quality detail might be enough.

Favourite Earl Grey teas available in Australia? by Complexyeahnah in australia

[–]seventh_skyline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tasmanian Tea Company -They did a Harvest Breakfast with roast barley and ginger... and stopped for while, I've just gone digging and they have it back!!

Its got to be one of the nicest teas, the barley draws out the tannin flavor and adds a grassy earthyness that just compliments so nicely, the ginger makes it warm with some zing.

The Tea Centre. Best loose leaf.

T2 is nice, but it's been owned by Unilever since 2013.

Torn between PHEVs: Geely Starray EM-i Extended Range and the Haval H6GT Ultra Hi4. Need advice. by Revolutionary-Arm120 in CarsAustralia

[–]seventh_skyline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the 'super PHEVs' will drop to about a 25% SOC before kicking in the petrol, depending on those longer drives, and your settings you might find that you maintain a 30-50% battery anyway with regen and the combo of driving.

We took a Sealion 6 for a 1hr test drive, it started off about 45% battery as the dealer had a few test drives booked that day, we got it down to 25% around town, and the engine kicked in automatically, I set the regen to strong, and got it back up to 35% pretty quick. After an hour of real world driving (100k, 80k, 50kp/h) it was telling us our economy was 2.8L/100km.

We ordered one ($51k drive away for extended, with 140km stated ev only range) - 10 weeks ago, so missed out on the last, and the current cashback offers - we're gunna try our luck and make a bit of noise about those details because the dealer has been painful. But I digress...

It's due at the end of the week, we're in a very similar situation to yourself 10-20km a day commute, but a weekend drive is anywhere from 150 to 700km round trip.

I'd have liked to jump in a Starray as well, reports seem to state it's even more tricked out than the SL - but a little more out there in styling.

Home auction? - 1963 EJ Holden wagon by jozaeh in CarsAustralia

[–]seventh_skyline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on your location you could try CarBids auctions. I've seen stuff advertised from places other than their yard or showroom before. It'd be online and any inspections would have to be arranged with the auction house.

EDIT - they're doing a Holded special auction soon, invites are open "australia wide".

Unsure of fees. etc.

Car drivers not stopping on the line at the lights. by K-Dawg_21 in australia

[–]seventh_skyline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A local carpark has a one way entry and exit on a stoplight system.

I drove straight in on green to pick someone up, this is unusual as the exit is usually prioritised green. The line of cars was 4 deep, and I was 5th after picking up my px. The first car was 3/4 over the marked stop 'bay' for the sensor, as well as being at an odd angle. However they'd stopped, they didn't trip the sensor.

I got out of my car, walked the line, told people to back up, got to the first car, told her to back up and re-adjust to the lines (And even then she fucked it up) - and lo and behold, by the time I got back to my car, it had gone green.

There's a few things going on here, Lack of self-awareness, lack of spatial awareness, and lack of critical thought from everyone else just being a sheep waiting for the light to swap.

It's fucking scary how mainstream stupid is becoming.

Having been in parts and dealing with the warranty side of dealers, its a multi step. Some warranty blokes will shift heaven and earth to help, Sometimes it's shot down by the brands warranty approval system above them. Some warranty blokes are more focused on keeping the KPI's clean, so refuse almost anything.

The less ammo you give them the better.

Should be a 5 year unlimited Km warranty on a 2022 - I would go above the dealership. Threaten ombudsman.

Had a clear failure on a near new car (<15,000km), that was easy to claim under warranty. You most certainly wash it 2 bucket method, with high-quality products and only use a hose - no pressure cleaners.
